Great looking and fun but some drawbacks
Overall I love my Mustang GT. It's very fun to drive and makes a great daily driver. The style, performance, and sound can't be beat for the price. I drive mine year-round and only the worst snow storms will slow it down. It also gets decent gas mileage when driven with respect. I constantly get around 30 MPG on the highway and 18 MPG with mixed driving. My only complaint is the build quality could stand to be improved. I've brought it to the dealer numerous times to have various parts replaced. None were serious, mostly just to fix rattles, clunks or other odd noises the car was making. Other than that the car has been reliable for the two years I've owned it.
Very Happy
The fun factor of driving this car is off the charts! The engine, with the cold air intake, is the sweetest sounding engine that you have ever heard with a low, high pitched whistle. Get the seat warmer option and you can drive it with the top down over 40 degrees. I picked it up in Tampa and the 8 hours I spent driving it home was as much fun as a man can have with his clothes on! Handling is superb and the front seats are extremely comfortable with the ability to actually lean your head back on the head rest to prevent fatigue. Very pleased and happy with the purchase a month into the ride.

Very disappointing
First of all, I absolutely loved the look of my 2007 Mustang, v6 Premium with Pony Package and Interior upgrade. It looked awesome. Unfortunately, the interior was plagued with rattles the dealer couldn't fix, and any driver who knows what I normal suspension should sound like would know that this car suffers from serious design flaws in the form of loud suspension clunks in the undercarriage. It sounds like bottom is gonna fall out on uneven surfaces. It also had terrible traction without the traction control upgrade, and I felt unsafe driving in rain. Wanted to love it, but had to get rid of it 6 months later and took a huge hit.
Great USED car. after 3 years
2007 Mustang Pony package 5 spd. Black with cloth seats. 69,000 miles It is older now so it had the water leak from the air intake where the drain holes got plugged with leaves, it has 2 minor spots of rust on the lower body panels and a few spots underneath. Tires were in good shape and have lasted minus one road pothole. After 3 years i replaced the sway bar links (myself), both front tie rods, done regular oil changes. Recently changed brake pads myself. Replaced wipers dry rotted. Upgraded the rear tail light to a sequential system left and right and brake lights. Recently upgraded the headlights (did not need too) now the headlight bucket is all chrome inside instead of factory brack and seems brighter. Car drives and handles well, shifts really well for me, all the gauges are right in front of me and I can see them and read them (they dont look like a star trek dashboard like newer cars) Radio was aftermarket and would blow out the speakers if cranked, big plus it had blue tooth and USB port as well as mimi port. Seats are cloth and have mustang print not pretty. Windows were tinted, makes it hard to see out back, I upgraded the rear view mirror to wide angle unit. For two adults the car is fine, tow small kids may be ok for the back but I customized mine to a flat deck so no seats. It had dual exhaust back to the rear axle and a single y pipe to the back (upgrade maybe next year) but works fine and keeps car quiet. Pickup is enough for normal city driving and freeway. (If you want a race car get the V-8) I got decent MPG on my trip to New Orleans from Ohio and averaged 29 MPG. In town Columbus is 24.5 mpg. I have an insurance bluetooth unit in it and my min coverage dropped to $25 month with state farm, if you drive aggressive or fast these units are not for you, but will save you money if you think and drive like a sane person. Trunk space is decent but egress is difficult due to trunk opening. Also had to change my battery, under hood I can get to most everything easy. Engine bay is set up like most cars from 60's to 80's no side ways engine and tranny. Handling most of the year is fine with decent tires on it. During snow and ice it gets a little torquey and can break loose if you power through a right of left turn, slow down it is fine (maybe change rear tires to all season or snow). The car gets looks still with it is all black (and yes paint is peeling on the hood lip) Just over 80,000 miles now. Heads up take off against my wife in her 07 G6GT 3.9L auto convertible, she gets me 3 times now..... 2/10/18 Ok well since the original review I had to do a clutch, tie rod pot holes winter, wipers (buy good ones , not super cheap) and now a starter (checked relay it was good, checked immobilizer chip/ chip in key for security, get a second key Just in case if you only have one, and was able to roll start the car and pop the clutch. So I know it is just the starter unit). It will also need an alignment due to pot holes and inner tire wear. Another little rust spot on lower door trim. Will need to o over the car real good come warmer weather. 2/11/21 UPDATE: had to change plugs and wires, rust hole behind drivers door is larger, had to replace two tires at 101,000 miles (current) paint chips on hood and some paint peel (installed a bra on hood), had to have the starter bolts retapped (one bolt broke, it is unfortunate it only had two) still fun to drive. I did notice after driving my Explorer that I like the lower door sill in the explorer vs the higher sill in the mustang. I like to rest my arm on the door sill when the window is down. Ironically my 2003 Ford Explorer 2 door sport (4.0L v-6, 5spd manual) has the same motor and tranny set up but gets far worse MPG with a 411 rear end. The 4.0 liter v-6 in both is still running strong contrary to what others have warned me about. I did switch to synthetic oil, hoping that will extend the life of the motor. update 8/11/21 Well I did develop a rust spot behind the driver door lower by plastic rocker trim. I have seen this on other 2005-10 in various stages. Mine quickly turned from a bubble to hole to large hole. So I guess there is a water catch that does not drain well, I hope to fix this before it gets worse. I have also had issues with the thermostat housing leaking, This is a common problem with many car that have the cheap plastic part. Will be upgrading my brakes to new pads and rotors (may need calipers too) 102,000 miles.

2007 Shelby GT.....100KMI warrior
This is my highway cruiser that I drive from PA to OH every weekend. I average 76 MPH and average 24.3 MPG. Paint looks great.....stripes are in terrible shape. Interior has held up great......absolute joy to drive with no fatigue over a 490 mile one way trip every weekend....I'm 51 and are more comfortable in this care over other more conventional sedans.
