Fun To Drive To Work
Given the $26K price tag, this is a fun car to drive back and forth to work. Yes, its not built like the expensive sport cars (I also drive a Porsche C4S), but it has the muscle and get up and go you would expect from our Dads old throw back muscle cars. If youre looking for a superior quality sports car at $26K, forget it. If youre looking for something to have fun with and get your heart rate up as you floor the accelerator, the Mustang GT will do the trick. I purchased the California Package and love the extras. Besides, theres an enormous amount of extras you can purchase to personalize your Mustang in performance and styling. Love the car!
Mustang Premium Coupe
Poor interior fit & finish. Chrome peeled from shifter almost right off. Hard to enter & exit. CD player is crappy made in Mexico by lowest vendor. CD stuck in it when I bought the car. Poor gas mileage and brake wear. Bought the car 3 years ago. Paid cash and I wish I had bought something else.

Beware the hoods of this generation of Mousetangs
This car was manufactured with an aluminum hood in order to save weight and meet government dictated mileage standards. There was a problem in the manufacturing process of all these cars from 2005 to 2014 and possibly beyond. Iron particles got contaminated with the aluminum when the hoods were formed. This has resulted in corrosion of the hoods usually on the front lip. Ford won a class cation suit by owners (surprise there huh?) and avoided costly replacement of the hoods. There currently is no way to repair the corrosion as any fix will be temporary. Many owners have opted to replace the hoods with fiberglass ones but complaints are abundant about poor fit and they do not match the original design. This problem has definitely soured my outlook on these models of Mustangs.

Great Summer Car
First - let my inform you readers I'm very car knowlegeable. I am quite skilled in the field of automotive engines and electronics. I deal with driveability issues every day. Having said that -this is my first Ford in 17 years. Its my middle-age-crisis toy. Im a guy who has owned scores of GM vehicles - some good and some lousy. I went with Ford this time because this is a company that doesnt appear to do alot of the dumb engineering things I have witnessed lately on either GM or Mopar. Having said all that lets talk about the car itself. I purchased this winter with only 4300 miles on it. I now have over 16000 miles on it after a few long distance trips the last couple months.
06 Mustang
The Mustang is really nice. The interior is a little cheap. Automatic transmission takes a while to down shift; likes to get in the high gear asap. The v8 sounds good, has all the power you need. Does not feel like 300 hp to me though; more like 230 hp. I have had mine to get a miss in the engine when I accelerate and turn; could be the traction control kicking in to stop me from spinning but not sure. Have to take it up with the dealer when I get my oil change which is every 5000 miles due to synthetic oil. But overall I am happy with the car. If you like to do adds for horsepower this is a good car - lot of add ons available.
