We Love it!
We sold an Audi A4 Avant to buy the Freestyle. The Freestyle is a much better car. I cannot believe how nice it is on the highway. The car is not as slow as people think. It just feels slow with the CVT and the tranny takes some getting used to. But after you figure it out, it is a great transmission. I have even towed a 1200lb trailer with it with not trouble. What a value!
Freestyle Fiasco
Dumb me! Didn't take a 24 hour test drive. New engineers needed at Ford. Horrible road noise, very loud turn signals and windshield wipers, blind spots, vibration in pedals when braking, rear seats rattle, very sensitive steering. What a mistake!

2005 Ford Freestyle
Great gas mileage. Comfortable to drive. Not too pleased with the interior. Had a 2002 Explorer XLT, interior was first class; the Freestyle has a lot of low-grade plastic and the seat controls are weak. Would also like the tailgate window to open. Very comfortable on trips, stable in wind and rain.
Just what I was looking for
This car has definitely met my needs. Originally, I was looking for a car with a roomy enough interior (for our growing family), not too wide of a body (easy to park) and flexible enough to fit 7 adults comfortably. One of the most important things I wanted is that I did not want to feel as if I was driving a huge truck and I did not like the feel of minivans. I did my research and felt that this was the car for me. It has not had any mechanical problems so far and I've owned it for 1 1/2 years. I like the smoothness of the CVT. Overall, I absolutely love my car!
This is a great car
I've had this car for almost three months and so far, so good. It is the smoothest running car I've ever had and I have had no problems to date. Mileage has been good (around 20 with mostly city/suburban and with a/c) and I expect the mileage to increase with more miles. It has room to spare and the seats (leather) are quite comfortable. It is very solid -- probably due to its Volvo base.
