2011 Ford Fiesta with Dual Clutch Manual Auto Trans in Blue Flame
I LOVE my car! Bought used in 2013 and 2 months later took a trip from No. KY to TN and then on to LA and then back. For the first leg of the trip, I filled before leaving home, went about 150 miles to pick up Dad, then on to TN another 250. All up and down hills, and ONE tank of fuel! I was speechless! Yes, that transmission takes a little to get used to. Thought something was wrong with it UNTIL I read the owner's manual. You just have to LISTEN to the shifting to get it right. If you accelerate moderately, you won't get that jerky feeling. I could not be happier with it. I drive over 100 miles a day and gas mileage is great. Started with 23K miles and now over 65K on it.
1 Month Ownership w/Auto
What a fun little car. I don't know why I like it so much in spite of its sluggish acceleration, body role and bizarre low speed transmission behavior! Despite what Ford marketing will have you believe this car is a compromise. But it's on I live with without regrets. I found the back seats in this car perfectly adequate and more useful than the big brother Focus. I'm averaging 38 mph in mixed driving.

The Truth About My Fiesta
The Fiesta is as you have no doubt read, fun to drive. It loves to turn and go around corners and I have had no trouble weaving in and out of Chicago traffic. If you have had SYNC before, you know its quirks, that is all I'll say about that. The stereo is fantastic, much better than the SONY system in my Fusion. The hatch allows you to shove a lot in and the back seats are big enough for smaller people. Many people have written about how quiet the car is, this is not true. The road noise inside this car is tremendously loud, my convertible was quieter with the top down than this thing. If the road noise does not ruin it for you the seats will, they are the worst part of the car.
Finally Took the Plunge!
Originally interested in the Mazda 2 and the Honda Fit. Although the Fit was impressive with its huge cargo space, the ride proved tinny and the vehicle offered no pickup. The Mazda 2 gave us better pickup, but the ride was noisy and bumpy on the side roads we drove on. At the last minute, we made the decision to check out the Fiesta and it was love at first sight. It looks like a "sportsover" - the look of a sports car from the front and the look of a miniature crossover from the rear. The drive is quiet and the car takes all the turns well. As far as the mileage goes, we've had the car for about two weeks and are still on the same tank of gas. Interior is impressive as well as roomy.
Fun Fiesta
I have always been an import fan due to higher quality, better design, and increased dependability. This Ford won me over. I really like this car a lot. It feels more like Hondas felt in the eighties than Hondas do now. It is great fun to drive. The few drawbacks thus far: not much rear-seat room, the PowerShift auto transmission hunts for gears and makes strange shifts sometimes, and the fuel economy is not as good as it should be for a car this size with this amount of power. I am hoping Ford will be able to use direct injection in the future to up the power and economy. I have been converted to a Ford fan-something I never thought I would say.
