Used 2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty Consumer Reviews
transmission problems
Good truck, 5.4 powerful enough. New 5 speed auto transmission was replaced at 5,000 miles. Is starting to have the same problem (slipping) after less than 1,000 miles. Dealer said some sort of ring broke. The Lariat has great comfort features. Power back sliding window, sunroof, seat heater. Fuel economy stinks. The trip computer says I've averaged 10.6 MPG.
Very Good Truck
I love this truck, it has a lot of power and rides like a car. I just wish it would get better mpg. I get about 14.5-15mpg around town.

F 250 TO THE RESCUE
Replaced a '90 F150 which I also purchased new and was a mechanical nightmare. Swore I was never going to but another Ford truck ... oh well! My new F250 is a bare bones model that I sought long and hard for. It is a pig on gas (11.5 mpg local) but so was the previous 5.8 that had nowhere near the power. No problems so far. Rear tires spin easily and sometimes need 4x4 to start out. Probably due to no load condition & 60 psi in the tires.
good tow vehicle
this truck makes an excellent tow vehicle but it handles like crap when not being used to tow or carry a load.Sometimes i feel like i'm drunk when i drive it,it;s all over the road.im hoping a new set of michelin tires will help i will keep you updated
Fantastic Truck!
The truck is head and shoulders over last years offer from Ford. The new coil springs in the front provide improved turning radius, and they really help the ride. The power from the 6.0 diesel is great. It turns heads everywhere I drive. Build quality is great, I have gone over the truck closely. All you guys in Louisville, GREAT JOB!!!!
