This truck is awesome. The 2.7 tt is super quick especially in sport mode. Rides great, handles great, gas mileage has been as expected in town and great on the highway. I used to be a Toyota guy , never again. Love it!

Drives well, looks good, lots of power. Commuting gas mileage is good for SuperCrew Truck. Avg 21 mpg. Often tow a 7500 lb trailer. 3.5L Ecoboost tows like a champ, but gas mileage drops to avg 9.6 mpg with that load. Been a very good truck so far. Haul heavy items in the bed (bedliner). No problems, no repairs needed or issues.

Clumsy defroster and fan controlls. Noisy sunroof

The GPS is outdated when you buy the truck and can't find a lot of places that my iphone 6 can. The defroster and fan controls are hard to find without taking your eyes off the road. The twin panel sunroof stopped working and doesn't shut correctly at 48,000 miles when the truck was only 2 years old and the dealer wants big money to fix it. (over $1500). This is a common problem if you search it on the web. The retracting running boards also started acting up at 2 years. Update 8/15/22, Now have 132,000 on the truck. Had to clean the catalytic converters with a few bottles of Cataclean and Seafoam but that cleared the check engine light. This may have been due to someone dumping 5 or 10 gallons of leaded race gas in it while I wasn't watching. Biggest concern is that the rear window burst when I used the defroster on a cool morning. It's a known problem and I suspect what happened was the kid seat strap behind the right side rear seat caught on the flexable cable to the center window defroster and pulled it of so the connectors shorted causing a high current and heat shattering the cold glass. This is also documented quite often online and is a $750 repair. Otherwise the truck still runs good and just got 21.9 miles to the gallon on a 400 mile trip with 4 adults, 300 lbs of tools, and 35 gallons of gas cans in addition to a full 36 gallon tank while traveling at 70 plus mile per hour.

Stepped Up From XLT To Lariat

2016 Ford F-150 Lariat 4dr SuperCab 4WD 8 ft. LB (5.0L 8cyl 6A)

Took my 2010 F150 XLT Truck into the dealer for an oil change. The dealer has you pull in for a walk around inspection to cover their butt. I joked about an appraisal. This was in August of 2016 with 35000 miles on a 2010 trade in value was great. While waiting I got talking with Glenn the salesman who sold me the truck. He said you looking for a new one, I said you don’t have the one I want. He says he could find the one I want by from another dealer. I described that I wanted a 2016 Fire Bronze F150 Lariat with the 501A package and V8 engine. My order was filled a day later on 8/31/16. Chrome package, leather interior, moon roof, floor shifter with all the features I wanted. Having 395 hp. This truck can hit and get on the highway. Quiet ride, handles great with the sport mode feature. The auto/ manual transmission button shift came in handy one snowy night before the salt truck were dispatched. All in all Iove my 2016 Lariat and would recommend it. Fast forward to April 2021 with 34,500 miles on the odometer. I took her in for an oil change and complaint of a noise in right front wheel. They ended up changing the front right hub along with left. I’m thinking it was going to cost me an easy $1000. When I asked the price service manager said zero as it was covered by the extended warranty. That was on my birthday to boot so he knocked $10 off for a total of $40 toward the oil change. I had to take her in for the door latch recall but other than gas,oil and tires and brakes. This is my third Ford F 150 and would by a fourth when the time comes.

About 80% satisfied at 57,000 miles

I bought my truck exactly two years ago almost to the day. It had 34k mikes when I got it and 57k mikes today. I really like my truck it’s smooth while handling pretty good and well equipped and I don’t see what’s so bad about the aluminum body but I feel like it’s very under powered. I’ve had a few different trucks and expect nothing less than a smooth comfortable ride and that’s what I have. The turning radius is pretty tight just like my other F-150s were. I work in construction and have been known to purposely hit dirt road bumps and mud and feel like the truck is pretty durable. Personally I like the aluminum body. I don’t know if it’s just me or if there is any evidence supporting this but I think the aluminum body reflects a lot of heat which is nice in the summer. As far as ruggedness goes I think it takes more force to ding the aluminum body but when you do it leaves a bigger dent. I know everyone has their own opinion on this and that’s mine. The only thing I really dislike about my truck is how under powered it feels. It seems like on normal flat roads I have to really push the accelerator to keep up with traffic. I don’t think it’s normal to regularly accelerate at 3,000 RPM to get up to speed. My old truck would accelerate to the same speeds but between 2,000-2200 RPM. There was a time when I wanted to get a travel trailer but won’t until I get a new truck because I can’t imagine pulling a trailer through the mountains around here with such a lack of power. In conclusion it’s a great truck other than the under powered issue. I definitely recommend getting the ecoboost or V8.
