Used 2004 Ford F-150 Consumer Reviews
Ford tough with a few extra rattles
I have a 2004 F150 that I bought in 2015 with 67,000 miles. 5.4 cam phaser knock and rust on the rear quarter panel as is typical for cars in this area...especially ford trucks. I now have 97,000 miles and other than the noisy phasers, I’ve had absolutely zero problems with it. Been a Chevy guy all my life until the 5.3 and 6.3 engines completely crapped out on two consecutive Yukon’s...sorry Chevy, not coming back and just bought another ford truck this weekend

My Truck
The truck has more bells and whistles than I was looking for but the price was good. I enjoy the feel and comfort of the ride but now would perfer to have four doors instead of the door and a half setup.

Not Satisfied
My overall impression after driving this vehicle for 6 months and 10,000 miles is that it is not all that it is cracked up to be. The steering wheel maintains a slight tilt to the right even when on flat roads (The dealership can't find anything wrong).
BRAKES
I HAVE 550 MILES ON THIS TRUCK THE DRIVER SIDE ROTOR HAS GROOVES IN IT THE OTHER 3 ROTORS ARE SMOOTH TO MUCH BRAKE DUST ON FRONT WHEELS FORD NEEDS TO PUT BETTER BRAKE PADS ON THERE TRUCKS
perfect truck in its class
this is a reply in regards to the compare it link at this website edmunds said that the dodge ram with the v-10 viper engine(str-10) whooped the svt on horsepower i beg to differ according to truckin magazine the srt had a 1/4 mile time of 14.08 sec @ 101.64 m.p.h,it has a 0-60 of 5.66 with 500 h.p, 525 #'s of torque (remember that this is an 8.3 liter engine)and has an msrp of $45,000!!!!! Ouch , but on the other hand fords svt lightning ran a 1/4 time of 14.68 sec @ 98.37 mph it has a 0-60 of 6.37 with 380 h.p and 450 #'s of torque and has a msrp of $33,495 yes the srt has more hp and torque but the lightning can hang with a minimal difference in specs.
