36K miles and still gets the looks!

Just hit the 36K mile mark. I have the Island Blue F-150 and it still turns heads after 2 years. I had a couple of minor problems. The power windows had to be fixed and the rubber above the front windshield did not seem to be glued on properly causing it to flap around the roof and windshield. The Ford dealer was good and fixed the car quickly. Comfort is a plus up front. Fuel economy-BAD. Overall I like my choice. I bought it for the look and the look only, but, as pickup truck owners will tell ya, it was used for far more than that. Great at hauling heavy loads, sheetrock or just AS IMPORTANT, going to the College Alumni Golf outings.

I purchased this pickup hoping to get at least 20 MPG and this has been a disappoinment. The best I have ever gotten is 18 MPG going downhill. Other than that it has been a great truck. I like the handling and its performance. Has plenty of power for what I need. Just wish it got better mileage.

Overall no "major" quality or reliability problems, but enough to be annoying. Require several premature repairs after basic warranty; passenger door lock intermittent, rear sliding glass windows leaked from day one, cup holder spring broke, check engine light on and $300 sensor repair at 37 months (just out of warranty), cheap tires, brakes needed at replaced at 25K mikes, Cruise control sometimes acts erratic and disconnects on its own. Engine is powerful. Body finish is still excellent. Only big negative was that Ford service could never duplicate rear window leak (floor always wet after every rain). I finally repaired the leak myself.

It has been a great vehicle. the only exception would be the bed cover has been off for repair more than it has been on the truck.
