All good for 5 years
My truck has 130,000 miles on it. Other than oil changes and one pair of brakes, it's always good to go! It is a 5 speed, plain truck [rubber mats and an a/c], but for the buying price of $17,000, it has been a terrific truck. The same dealership still has the same truck [2004-2005 models] for that same price and I will be buying another soon. I think my son will get another 130,000 miles on my 2000 F150 before it is done!
Good looking and reliable!
Bought this truck brand new in 2000 and has been one great truck. If you take care of it, it will take care of you! I've had mine now for 5 years and not once have I had any major problems or concerns with her. She looks good, rides good and pulls good, what more could you ask for! I've learned with Ford, you really do get what you pay for.

Awesome 4x4
I use to have a Honda Accord which is a far cry from a 4x4. However, I purchased a Truck with the same quality and craftmanship as Honda. I could not ask for a better truck. Originally I wanted a Chevy Z-71 but once I test drove both trucks there was NO comparision! The quality and solid feel of the F150 is far superior than the Chevy.
Bulky Vehicle 4.2 6 Cylinder
I bought this truck as a replacement for a small Japanese truck. That being the case, it is just too big for shopping malls, and city driving. Really good for hauling mulch, bicycles, etc. I chose this truck because I could stick the kids in the back seat; not everyday, but once in awhile. There was no better value on the market. It drives well, manual transmission is slow, bulky shifting (not fun), problem with heating system (header adjustment door locked up, expensive fix), cruise control recall. It is not as well made as a Toyota or Mitsubishi. Mileage - I get 15-17 in mixed driving.
Leaks
Wonderful truck. Satisfied. After 2 years of awful odor, finaly realised rear window leaks. Carpet ruined, mold, mildew everywhere. Out of warranty. Ford told me to see dealer. Problem is design and I have photo's of fasteners going through seals causing leaks. Love the truck, but after $30,000 purchase maybe it's time to look at Chevy. Or a Toyota?
