Great small car but the Titanium trim is stellar.

Got used at 60k miles. Over the last 7 years the car has been reliable, comfortable and has amazing fuel economy. Averaged 24 mpg combined, all hwy can top 32mpg. The turbo has quick torque spoolup and can beat a V6. The electronics are aging , backup camera goes out in heat and SYNC occasionally needs rebooting. Ford botched the Ecoboost head redesign in latter years, but this 2.3 design has been bulletproof since 1972. Just routine oil changes and 2 batteries are only thing done. Titanium trim and auto park assist make this the used small SUV to beat. Ive added a class 4 hitch for towing and its rated for 6000 lbs. Keeping for another 10 years.

First thing i would like to say is I'm a Nissan car salesman. I have no bias with domestic vehicles. The escape rides beautifully. I drove a rental from Atlanta, Ga to Green Bay, Wi through a major storm. No problems at all. The seats are the problem. Nissan has the zero gravity seats which are 100% more comfortable than the Ford seat. The engine and transmission work together just fine. Great visibility

Escape SEL FWD 2.0 Excellent Small SUV

Love the body style, with the 2.0 turbo engine, powerful, fuel efficient on regular fuel and quiet. Quality materials throughout and workmanship appears to be first class. Blue tooth, navigation, Sony sound system (awesome!) with Ford "My Touch" and "Sync" is well integrated, user friendly and works flawlessly. The Escape has a firm sporty ride but is not harsh and can carve up twisty turns and curves better than most cars with exhilarating fun and confident authority. Heated leather seats are supportive and comfortable even on long drives. Storage space is pretty generous and can haul 3500 pounds with optional towing package with ease. Absolutely enjoy driving it every day.

2013 sel with 2.0 power.

I just bought a 2013 escape sel with the 2.0 engine. I test drove the 1.6 as well. I chose the 2.0 for it's overall reliability, but, the 1.6 was actually more fun to drive. I believe it's because it has less power and therefore requires the driver to be more engaged. Nonetheless, the first time I hit the gas it put a smile on my face. Despite it's other problems,it does not disappoint in the fun catagory. The 2.0 is as expected. It's a beast in the passing lane and maintains more torque at higher speeds than the 1.6. Be aware that in the 2013 sel you won't get a back up camera unless your car has a specific package that adds that on. It may not even come with back up sensors. Just be aware of this before you buy one. Mine came with no camera or sensors, but, it is in prestine condition. I got a nice aftermarket solar powered back up camera made by Auto-Vox. It's completely seperate from every other system in the car so there's no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth required. And no problems.

Disappointed

I traded in a Rav4 lease for this 2013 Escape. On the plus side the power is fantastic and it looks great. On the neg side less room than the Rav, milege is no where near the 30 highway even after reaching the 5K mile break in period. Controls are difficult to reach. Everything falls out of the glove box when you open it and it is very small. It doesn't feel as solid. This is my first American car in a long time. I will go for the Honda CRV next time. Very disappointed.
