7 yrs, 120K miles, and still thrilled with it
27.5 mpg for 120K miles and counting, mixed in-town/highway. 2.5L engine, not eco-boost. I keep up with routine maintenance & use name-brand gas. So happy with this purchase x 7 yrs. I wanted a Fusion, but those headrests were impossible for me, so looked at Escape. Hatchback a + as I had a baby and toddler when I bought it: diaper changes, picnic in rain etc - convenient! Good visibility, easy to park, comfortable ride. I'm short, so headrests pushed my head uncomfortably forward, but this fixed by simply turning them around. 4-cyl slower to speed up than a V6, but mileage well worth it. Also I remember: Ford was the ONLY US automaker that didn't take the US taxpayer-funded bailout money and is still unionized. I appreciate and respect that.

Transmission problems. Unreliable car
The trans went in this car at 104000. 4 k over warranty. 5600+ to fix with a rebuilt trans. It also had 4 recalls , tie rod problems, fuel pump problems 2600+ to fix. Now I have a phantom problem with something draining the battery. Ford has no idea what the problem is so i get a new battery every year. I will never buy another ford again. Update second trans rebuilt by Ford failed after 40000 miles. Ford would only warranty second trans for remainder of the first rebuilt trans warranty. I now have a Honda.

Easy to Escape
110,000 miles on original tires. 147,000 miles on original brakes. Front wheel drive worthless on ice with any grade. Couldn’t get out of my driveway several winter days. 4 wheel drive a must in Kentucky.

Very Loud Knocking! After Cold Start.
I got a 2.5 liter S model, I do believe it has engine damage. It has 700 miles on it. Extremely loud lifters as well as lower end knocks. cold But after about 20 minutes of driving it gets somewhat less noisy. I think I might have low oil pressure. But of course the dealer says its normal. Without even listening or checking.. But other than that is ok I guess. No other complaints, I got synch but why bother. I don't use it. I just hope this motor smoothes out or blows. I stayed away from the turbo cause I figured Id be keeping it for a long time. Aint much for high tech. But the motor worries me a bit. but hey. A motor can be replaced. I hope it smoothes out though . Anyone have any input?
Awesome!!!!
Only had my Escape SE for 500 miles & I love everything about it!! It drives so smooth & handling is excellent! Transmission is very smooth! I am definitely impressed by this Ford. I was never a fan of the Ford lineup but checked them out - mainly the Edge, Escape, & Fusion. I went with the Escape bc I got the best deal on it. Definitely completely satisfied, however. I love driving it & when my lease is over, I will be considering another FORD!!
