2024 Dodge Hornet Consumer Reviews

I am very sad
I am very disappointed in the car. I bought it six months ago and drove only 5 thousand miles. It started to break down in the middle of the road. I can neither start it nor turn it off. I had to call a tow truck. The service replaced my battery. And last time they wrote that some kind of electrode came off. All possible lights are on the screen. I am very dissatisfied with the car and want to return it as soon as possible.

Hornet GT Plus is an under rated vehicle.
Purchased a Hornet GT Plus with black package. This SUV has great performance, AWD, and many standard features not found on other SUVs. It handles great, looks good, has a really good Harmon Kardon sound system, has a comfortable and quiet ride, good road feel and steering. Very comfortable heated and cooled leather seats and a heated steering wheel. The interface has loads of apps and is responsive. The Alfa DNA is what gives this vehicle it's performance, character, and soul. The performance from the 268 HP and 295 torque puts other SUVs to shame. The ONLY drawback I can find is the cargo space is not large. The discounts available because the vehicle is not selling makes them a steal. UPDATE: I have been a car guy since the muscle car era. Owned a few different Alfa Romeos. Never had any real trouble with them and totally enjoyed them. Spent over 30+ years in the automobile business. Everything from sales to finance, sales management, and GM of multiple brand dealerships. I purchased a 2024 Hornet GT Plus with black top package that had a $41000 MSRP for $30.000 OTD including tax, title, doc fee, window tint, and rubber mats. At these prices, these are a STEAL. After driving this SUV for 6 months, I feel like it was a real steal. This is really a performance-oriented Alfa Romeo and it feels like it when you drive it. For this money I got AWD, 268 HP and 295 ft pounds of torque. The Interior pieces and heated seats/steering wheel are premium brand upscale Alfa Romeo quality. The ride is supple and still handles like a sports car. The interface is good and loaded with features. The Harmon Kardon surround sound stereo is good. If I have one complaint, it is the aggressive Goodyear Eagle high performance 18-inch tires have some road noise above 70 MPH. Not obtrusive. Just noticeable. I am more satisfied with this purchase than most vehicles I have owned. Not sure about the haters, but advice from a car guy, I recommend this SUV. Especially if you want something with some performance, fun to drive, comfort, and some character.

The car is a lemon. It’s nothing but a rebadged Italian “throw away” car. We picked one up for our teen daughter, as the dealer was more than happy to “cut a great deal” to get it off the lot. The test drive was uninspiring, basically proving the GT is a bland, half sized, “soccer mom” vehicle……seemingly made perfect for a teen age girl. We thought she’d be cruising around and listening to her Taylor Swift in this Barbie mini van wanna be, instead…. It lives at the dealership. Constant electrical issues. Dashboard goes out completely one day, intermittent warning lights another. It’s been months of stumbles, issues, chimes, and problem after problem. More time riding the dealer floor than on the road. It’s a prime example of why you barely see any out there and why the new dealer we use advises they can’t give them away. If you’re looking for a bland and boring daily drive that will get you from A to B, this vehicle only looks the part…..it will not reliably get you anywhere. It will frustrate you but that’s about it. I’m waiting on it to get “repaired” once again and then going to trade it in on something reliable that I can put my kid in. This thing is not trustworthy. I would’ve thought it was just a lemon and a rare occurrence but I was told by the new dealer we’re using that this is why they don’t want to sell them at all. 🤷🏻♂️

Great Sporty Hybrid SUV
When i bought the Hornet, I thought it would be an great extra car for myself and my son. It's exceeded all expectations in drivability and is just plain fun to ride in. The technology in it is top notch. Battery charge has good mileage capacity. You can slowly charge the battery when driving also if it is out of juice. One area Dodge needs to improve, a larger gas tank capacity. If you are on a road trip regionally, it's clear as day you will need to fill it up sooner than you expect. It's so far reliable and fun 5000 miles in.

Hot Tamale!
I purchased the GT with the Cold Weather and GT Blacktop + Track Pack Bundle (comes with the 20 inch black rims and red calipers to name a couple)... It is amazing. My best friend bought one three months ago, so I had a 3 month test drive...and fell in love. It has all the options I wanted... Looking forward to years of fun in the car.
