Used 2018 Chevrolet Suburban Consumer Reviews
2018 suburban waste of money
Leased this car less then a year ago put down 12k because I planned on purchasing at the end of my lease, but now I will not be doing that and will be filing a formal complaint with chevy. After a month of leasing my AC went out in June! My car was in for repair for two months for this! And I have two little babies and I was given a tiny Chevy to drive in the meantime which was horrible. Then the window seal on the drive door broke, once again car was in for two weeks while they ordered the part. Next, passenger visor broke just from opening it, once again in for repair. Now today the driver visor broke! I don’t know what is going on with this suv but this is just so upsetting. Also my back up camera lines always disappear and Chevy says because they can’t recreate the problem they can’t fix it. This is a 65k vehicle and leased less then a year and already more problems then I have ever had with another vehicle over a 10 year period.

Worst vehicle I've ever owned
Problem after problem , Gm not willing to help with a vehicle that was at the time 2 model years old . A/C issues at less then 60k , Injector issues from 60k forward mis-fire codes , known issue that would not fix.... Oil pan leak they refuse to fix and quote 2300. to fix at 65k. and lastly 94k miles Transmission Blows up lost 3rd -6th,refuse to assist with this , 6000. to fix ,. At this point we have had the vehicle 28 months still owed close to 50k on a 0.0% loan , Traded it in for a Toyota and take a 24k Negative hit on the suburban but also relieved that the problem vehicle is gone ,and the stress about what would go next is also. Would not Recommend Chevrolet to anyone ,even my enemies ,Customer care is horrible .

2018 Premier is my 4th Suburban!
This vehicle is built to travel, haul, work, and move more than your average sized group of people. It is incredible on the highway as well as in town. Yes, if you are accustomed to a small vehicle, you will initially have a hard time parking and working your way through traffic. Once you get accustomed to your Suburban's size, you will love all the extras the greater capacity affords you. Being one of the largest consumer vehicles on the road, fuel economy is not great, but the trade off is well worth it. Comfort when traveling cannot be beat. Plenty of room and entertainment for everyone on board. The seating is firm and comfortable. You feel safe in a Suburban due to the vehicle size and the fact that you are not looking up to every vehicle you pass. All of my Suburbans have been super reliable. Very few mechanical issues...and I have driven all of them over 150,000 miles. If you are towing, the Suburban is for you. While a diesel 3/4 ton truck may do a better job for extra heavy loads, most boats, etc will be right at home behind your Suburban. Update 2/12/24 139,000 miles: as with any machine some components fail overtime. Unfortunately, we just had to replace the transmission at 130,000 miles. This particular model has a few more rattles and other signs of aging than my previous Suburban lower build quality ? I’m not sure. Will I buy another Suburban in the future? Yes.

Tested a 2017, got a CPO 2016 instead
I found this CPO 2016 Suburban LT to be an excellent option, because prices for newer models are almost doubled. The 2016 Suburban LT handles like a big car, not like a truck. Although, there's a need to practice right turns and parking, because of its length. It takes a lot of gas and $$ to fill up the tank, but this machine compensates by providing the driver with hundreds of miles on the highways without a fillup.

I bought a 2017 Suburban Lemon
In November of 2018, I traded in my Hyundai Santa Fe, which I loved, for a 2017 Chevrolet Suburban for more room. The Suburban is a beautiful Charcoal Gray and seemed to be the perfect vehicle. I have had to take it back constantly for issues. The rear left seatbelt would not unlock tightened so tight on my 16 year old son that it cut his skin/stomach as he was trying to get it off him. I had to get my knife and cut him out of it because my husband and I could not free him. Scary! I had to take it back constantly for noises it was making. Rattling noises in the rear hatch door, pieces broken and rolling around in the door. Dealer Had to order new parts. Loud tornado noises which they said the tires the dealer had on them when I bought it were the wrong tires and were for off road terrain and not for highway that were causing the noise. I had to buy new tires; $1000 plus dollars. Noises rattling in driver door. Took it back 5 times for this noise before they ordered a new parts. Noises under the dash board sounded like a howling windstorm and a bird chirping squeaking sound in the engine under the hood. They said the fixed the seal in the windshield and ordered another part to fix and stop the noise. They said it was fixed $$800 the dealer split the cost because I had taken the vehicle in since I bought it for these issues they said they could not find. So I started recording the noises with my video on my phone. The same day I took it back because the bird chirping sounds were still there. It took them 2 days to find out and tell me the engine is bad and they are ordering parts to rebuild. I am in a rental now for more than 2 weeks and looking at 2 weeks more until the finish. My $200 business briefcase rolled slid out of the sloping trunk when I opened the rear door and broke. My plastic containers that I keep my insurance plans slid out and broke. This vehicle has more problems, too many to name! This is my 2nd Suburban. We had a 2009 that we absolutely loved. I am ready to turn it back in to them.
