My Silverado

I bought the Sikverado Custom Crew Cab with the Turbocharged 4 cylinder engine. So far I've been pleased with my purchase. I have towed a 16' trailer with full loads on four different trips. I have not gotten close to the 9500 lbs. limit. I pulls like a champ. I couldn't feel the trailer I was pulling. My fuel economy has been all over the board because of my usage. I would recommend it as a great utility truck.

2.7 is more powerful than I expected!

My previous truck was a 2018 Silverado with a 5.3. I was very skeptical about the little four in a full size. I took the 2022 crew cab 4x4 for a drive and the low end torque is amazing. The towing and cargo are comparable to my old truck. Towing my 5000 pound camper felt effortless with the 2.7. That 348 ft lbs of torque at 1500 RPM’s really comes in handy towing especially at low speeds. I’ve averaged around 22 mpg in mixed driving. Highway isn’t very impressive at 19. The truck only has 2100 miles so I’m hoping the HWY fuel economy will go up after the engine is broke in. My 5.3 I got 23 average on the hwy. I miss the V8 sound but don’t notice much difference in performance. Im sure if you tow heavier than I do you would want a V8. Update: 17000 miles trouble free and I average 21.5 MPG.

Don't.... Just DON'T

I purchased this truck with the promise of timely retrofit of the missing features.... That was a lie! Chevrolet doesn't care one bit after they have your money, GM as a whole does not. They'll equip brand new vehicles with things you've waited nearly a year for and say they're not available for yours (same part by the way). Amd then they'll sight their "two tier" system and you as an already paid owner are tier two. So in other words after they have your money, you getting what you've already paid for is second priority you them. They'll outfit new builds with those parts while you wait for yours and your warranty on those items expires. I seriously wish I had never purchased this poorly executed and over priced truck. Bed was crooked, that took my dealer 7 MONTHS TO GET GM TO FIX! And now I wait for chips, parts, my hated steering wheel...... And through it all Chevrolet expected me to wait and pay almost 70k for a crooked equipment missing truck. That the expected retrofit date were end of last year or "Q4 22" as put in my window sticker. Stay away from Chevrolet, I say this as a life long owner and supporter of this company. STAY AWAY FROM THE NEW SILVERADO! Also I only buy the 6.2 motor

2022 High Country Review

Al Jones, 11/15/2024
2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Limited High Country 4dr Crew Cab 4WD 6.6 ft. SB (5.3L 8cyl 10A)

This is our 3rd Silverado and first High Country (previous LTZ models), all 5.3L motors. I wouldn't touch the 6.2L, too many issues reported. The interior was very luxurious and the Adaptive Ride Country was worth every penny of the $900 option. I can't believe it rode so well on the standard 22" tires. The mutil-flex tailgate seemed like a gimmick, but turned out to be the best option on the truck, we used that feature frequently. And, a good value for the $260 option cost. I looked very hard to find a 5.3L motor, with the 6.6' bed, they are quite rare. Also rare was the deletion of the Stop/Start, a problematic feature on many Chevy motors. This truck was also missing the Active Fuel Management (chip disabled), also a big headache on many Chevy's. The only downside was the glitchy phone interface. It would constantly not connect with the primary phone. And if I had my wife and my phone in the truck, it would never switch properly. The dealer just shook his head and said his did the same thing. We never had any warranty issues at 25k, we only sold the truck because it wouldn't fit in the garage of our new home and we also didn't need a 4WD vehicle or large truck. Whoever bought this one, got a great truck.
