Reasonable SUV
Decent mileage, very few repairs. We were able to go 70000 before doing the first brake job and 60000 miles before replacing the original tires.

Where do I start
I have a 2012 LTZ equinox with 14k miles, I can not count the times I have had to take it in for problems. This past week, my check engine light came on. Dealer said it has to do with the air filter we put in (k&n) we replaced the filter back to the orig. one and the light came on again. Called a different dealer and they said they were too busy to get my car in for at least two days... Do I just drive the car around with the check engine light on? Then, Today, I went to use my remote start and the remote start is not working. For as much as they cost, you think GM would get it right the first or second time... I'm very disappointed with GM and more so with the dealership I purchased the car

Please so far
Bought a 2012 LTZ AWD with V6. Significant upgrade from the Honda CRV we traded so I'll temper my enthusiasm until we've had it long enough to put some decent miles on it. Overall, very pleased with the interior (leather is firm but comfortable), features are pretty straight forward and within easy reach, ride is very soft and the cabin is quiet. Especially compared to the CRV. We have two preteen girls so leg room in the back isn't an issue. If there is one complaint, it's that the V6 AWD Equinox is a very thirsty creature. We're averaging about 20mpg in mixed driving, however we kind of expected that going in so it's not really a complaint.
Good Compact SUV
I have 13K miles. Good fuel economy. Best so far was 30.8MPG on a 600 mile trip driving @ 65-70MPH. Average 25.5MPG in mixed driving. Lot's of room inside. Comfortable seats with good support. Good ride and suspension is well tuned.
Engine is awful
This vehicle was my family's first big car purchase. Bought a 59,000 2012 LTZ equinox and first the cam shaft sensor goes out within 4 months. Car stalls on the interstate almost causing a horrid accident. We get it fixed and not a year later the car starts to rattle like a diesel engine and starts to kill after short drives. Bring it to the same dealer which I trust very much. He has been my family's mechanic for many years. The internal timing chain got stretched out within the engine due to oil consumption. We had the oil changed 3 week prior and ahead of time due to us planning a family trip. We didnt even get to the family trip and we have a $1500 repair bill for the timing chain. My mechanic said to fix and sell this car while you can still salvage something out of it. I feel absolutely awful putting this junk back on the market. There is no way I will ever recommend an equinox to anyone and I hope this review helps someone from making the same mistakes my family has to live with.
