2012 Equinox - better than expected
We love the way the Equinox looks. During its first year, our 2012 Equinox was in the shop way too often for a fairly new car. The main issues we had were (1) the hub bearings had to be replaced, (2) the Check Engine light came on due to a faulty gas cap, and (3) the transmission jerks at low speeds. Replacing the hub bearings fixed the issue of the popping noise when turning the steering wheel at low speeds. Replacing the gas cap did not fix the problem, so the dealer just replaced a faulty valve in the fuel system. We still haven't gotten a solution for the jerking transmission and the dealer says they didn't find anything wrong with it. Since that first year, we've not had any problems with the vehicle. We are considering purchasing another Equinox as our next new car.

2012 Chevy Equinox 1LT V6/AWD w/ All Star Package
This is an update to my previous review. After a little over 3500 miles, I have been averaging 21 mpg at an average speed of 26 mph (mix city/hwy). On the interstate at a steady 65 mph, I was able to average 28 mpg and at steady 70 mph, 27 mpg. Not bad for V6 with all wheel drive. I hope to see more improvement as she continues to break in. This ride is getting better and better!

Money pit
Don't buy this vehicle. Worst model Chevrolet ever made.
Reasonable SUV
Decent mileage, very few repairs. We were able to go 70000 before doing the first brake job and 60000 miles before replacing the original tires.

Beware of this vehicle
The doors rust out on the bottom edge and chevy/gm won't take care of it unless it is through the door rust!!!!!! For the record I got rid of the rust bucket equinox I do not recommend this vehicle at all!!!!!!! And poor service by GM and Chevy and the local dealer too!!!!!!!!
