Used 2010 Chevrolet Equinox Consumer Reviews
Gas Mileage Poor
I have owned my equinox for a little over 3 months. I'm a 55 year young grandma. Over the years I have had several new or slightly used vehicles, and I love this one the most, by far. I love everything about it EXCEPT for the gas mileage. I only work 3 miles from home so I realize that hurts the mileage. But, it doesn't matter if I drive local or on trips, with or without the eco button, i average 21 mpg. With my previous Ford Escape, I was getting 24-28 mpg. At first I was getting 24 mpg, which I didn't like, but was ok with. Now it's down to 21 :( I just don't think they should be able to advertise the 32 mpg.
Improve a few things and this will be a great vehicle
Bought mine new. I feel ALL vehicles are over-priced. I do like this SUV. Great styling, it starts right up, drives very nice and after 2+ years now and 36K miles no service trips required. I was in an accident. An Isuzu Trooper pulled out into traffic from a gas station and hit me at the rear door & panel area. Airbags deployed. My vehicle did well in the collision, much better than the Trooper. The driver of the Trooper was hurt (legs). Trooper had to be towed. I would recommend this vehicle over comparable vehicles (Toyota and Honda), but see my suggested improvements. If they fix those I would strongly recommend. Transmission shifting sometimes gets confused.

Modern Day Chevy Chevette throw away car
Chevy is notorious for building the throw away car in the 80's with the chevette and has followed that up with the equinox, 69000 miles and in the shop for timing chain issues that we told them about 2 years ago, said that the noise was "normal" then said it was a computer issue.... the tax payers gave these clowns 30 billion to bail them out and this is how they re pay us, junk

Engine repbuilt twice, oil burner, gas burner
Drove all the way to White Plaines, NY to get the Equinox LTZ in Blue I wanted. 4 cyl (plenty of power), 2WD for maximum mileage. Drove to WI and back to FL on 4,000 mile trip and averaged 32.2 mpg. Smooth, reliable, roomy, quiet, efficient, fun to drive vehicle. Have owned over 35 vehicles to inlcude Corvette, Lexus, and Toyota and love this SUV. I stole it from my wife this morning just to get the chance to drive it. Had a noisy tick in the engine audible when outside of the vehicle, GM did the $3,000 repair for NC and provided rental and I have 49K miles on it. Runs quiet as a mouse. Great Car, Great Service, Great vaule. Update: Engine went south at 60k miles. Two rebuilds. Oil burner. Mileage to 12mpg Traded for Chevy Trax another GM disaster. Car died and had to be towed 19 times. Never fixed. A nightmare. Finally after 5 months of pain and only 5600 miles, convinced GM to buy back the 2015 Chevy Trax under the lemon law. Good riddens GM. Done. Update: Will never buy a GM Product again.

Equinox 2010 flawed design
Purchased 2010 equinox with 28,000 miles. Been in the shop 5 times already. Display panel and entire dashboard blew out, muffler is rusting because of designed drain hole on the side, very poor acceleration, no cabin air filter, fumes enter car even when recirculated air is on, no rear vents, no insulation on sun roof slider, car is always hot inside, chrome on dash creates glare directed right at the driver, making for unsafe driving condition. Gas milage is not what is advertised.
