Well Pleased
I purchased my 2008 Base model, 3LT, Z51, NPP 3 years ago with 29,000mi. on the clock. I have been very pleased with it. I have done only oil changes; everything has been completely reliable. The car is easy to learn, very driver friendly. My partner (girlfriend) enjoys it very much (definitely a plus). I have put 14,000mi. on it since purchased. Some have commented that the interior is a little drab but I am satisfied with it. The engine is "leggy" with good torque and hp throughout a broad rpm range, I don't have to be constantly changing gears although I like the engine sound with the NPP open so I find myself shifting almost unnecessarily just to listen to the exhaust note. I have the NPP bypass remote (came with the car) and that enhances the driving a great deal as I can hear the exhaust when I want and I can return it to normal mode when I want less sound so I can listen to music (I really like this feature). The roof panel is fairly easy to remove/replace with no particular awkwardness although care must be used when doing so, and it stows in the trunk area in the retaining brackets, only it does take up a lot of the available trunk area, but if I'm traveling with luggage I'm not going to be doing it with the roof panel off as I would likely get tired of that after couple hours. I scored the performance high but I'm sure I haven't tested the limits of the car (I'm a senior citizen, and I think it's a good idea for me to not push the car beyond my limits with the possible consequences of breakage, collision and higher insurance premiums; the car does everything I want it to. The leather on the seats is good quality and the fit/finish of the car overall is very good. I drive it year round here in the mountains of western NC, USA, and I have a set of summer tires on aftermarket wheels and change over to the all-season tires on the factory wheels when winter comes. This is an extra expense but I really don't like the idea of the car sitting in the garage thru the winter and my not being able to enjoy it, but to each his own. I chose to go this route with the tires since these cars come with summer tires and it's recommended they not be used below 50 degrees F, and since the all-season tires are twice the price of summer tires I think I'm saving money in the long run, and again, I get to enjoy the car year-round. A lot of people (who are true car people) do look at the car with interest/admiration and I have to admit that's a pretty cool feeling, although that's not the reason I bought it. I bought it to drive and enjoy the technology/performance/style, and it's a car I could afford where I could get that. Overall, the fuel economy is good, surprising that 430hp could still result in such figures (average 23mpg). If I had $110k to spend, I'd probably get a 2016 ZO6. I toured the Bowling Green Assy. plant a couple years ago and was impressed with the dedication that goes into these cars. One negative note is the fact that the car has a problematic keyless entry/start system. At least 25% of the time the car can't "find" the FOB and I have to try several times to enter the car or start it. I'm not sure what the problem is since it's intermittent, and intermittent problems are difficult to correct. Update 7/23/18: The problematic keyless entry system was the result of using weak fob batteries. I made the mistake of buying a handful of the CR3032's when I got the car, thinking the fob battery was weak. I was correct - the battery was weak. The mistake I made was buying more batteries than I needed and buying batteries that apparently had been on the shelf for a long time so the result was I replaced the weak fob battery with another weak fob battery. Over the course of a couple years I dealt with fob problems unknowingly using weak batteries one after another. I had issues with the car finding the fob, starting problems, etc., all because I didn't have a fresh fob battery. I finally replaced the battery with a known fresh one (bought it at a store I know sells a lot of them - Walmart) and all symptoms went away. I have had no problems with the fob features, anything related to the fob, engine starting, door opening, etc. I'm very pleased I discovered this. From now on, I will buy a battery only when I need one and will buy only one at at time since apparently these batteries do weaken on the shelf. Duracell advertises a 10-year shelf life but I'm not even going to trust that. Actually, I've decided the next time I need a fob battery I will use my multimeter to make sure the new fob battery has at least 3.1 volts. If you think about it, a car battery, when it drops to 12 volts, is essentially dead. Many car batteries that reach 11.9 volts will not start a car without difficulty, and since I've discovered the fob needs at least 3.0 volts I'm going to make sure my new fob battery is fresh and strong by testing with my multimeter. I now have 53,000 miles on the car. 1/23/21Update - No fob problems. 7/25/22 Update - At 63,000 miles, still enjoying. Have had no issues. Just purchased an Optima "red top" battery. 7/25/23 Update - Car continues to be very reliable. 7/26/24 Update - Continuing to enjoy the car. Continues to be very reliable. Have had to replace nothing.

Best car I've owned in 50 years
My 2008 Z06 replaced a 2005 Z51 Corvette. Beside providing world-class performance, in 26,000 miles this car hasn't had a single issue other than changing tires and oil. It's the best car I've ever owned. It has no rattles, no glitches, and at a steady 80 mph, it gets 32 mpg. Highly recommended.

Always an eye-catcher
My wife and I have absolutely loved this car from the day we purchased it. The comfort, performance and reliability can't be beat, especially for the price. You could pay twice as much and still not get a car of this quality. We drove it on a 9,000 mile road trip around the United States in the fall of 2008 and averaged 27 mpg. The navigation was a huge aid. Don't believe the car magazine criticisms of the seats, but ask any C6 owner or try them yourself to realize how comfortable and supportive they are. The 430 horsepower is all you could desire and more. The Corsa Sport exhaust we installed added 12 additional horses and 13 lbs of torque and an aggressive throaty sound on acceleration and quiet cruising. While we may purchase a new one some day, we will have difficulty parting with this C6, the lines of which we love. Receives compliments every where we go. May never part with it.

Corvette C5 to C6 Z06
After 4 years of Corvette C5 coupe ownership I purchased a new 2008 Machine Silver Z06 based on pricing, performance and looks. Having owned the car less than two weeks I can say this is absolutely the best automobile I have owned. The performance and acceleration is superb. The looks are unmatched and pricing for this American supercar is right on. The Z06 is not an economy car but highway mileage in the mid 20's is not disappointing.
Spectacular and reliable performance car, full of
I bought this car new in 2008, and have had not a single service issue in 42,000 miles. Other than tires (lots of expensive tires) and oil changes, the car has been bombproof. Now that all performance cars have gotten heavier than the C6 ZO6's 3,160 lbs., even the heavy 707 hp Chrysler products aren't faster. This was the last American car that had a focus on performance over anything else. Weight reductions include a thinner windshield, carbon fenders, magnesium roof and engine carriage, and not a lot of extraneous options that add weight. It's a pure performance car that's also suitable for long trips due to the massive storage area under the rear glass hatch. I travel with my wife, luggage, a cooler, and a freaking road bicycle! On the Interstate, I have seen typical fuel economy around 31 mpg @ 80 mph, and as high as 33-35 on a few tanks of gas. I've had 20 new cars in my life, and I've never kept one this long. If you can find a low-mileage 2007 or newer, you won't be sorry.

Do I have a lemon
I have been having constant problems with my new Z06.1. The automatic shift from 1st to 4th light does not comes on and off whether I am actually shifting from 1st to 4th. Sometimes the vehicle will not let me fill a full tank instead it only allows me to fill 1/2 a tank. My traction light comes on and off whenever it wants and it seems the rear end is slipping. When I make wide slow turns the steering wheel gets rock hard and I have to really hold it tight as if I didnt have power steering. When I pull my vehicle up to my drive way I hear the roof of the car crackling as if the roof is shifting. My power seat control went out the first week of owership and they had to replace it.
Enjoying my lifetime dream car!
Lucky guy! I also own a new Camaro and love it. I have always wanted a Corvette since working at a dealership after high school. I checked out a local 2008 that I located on the internet. I had never driven one and didn't know if the power would be too much for me to handle. It wasn't and I bought it too. This car drives perfectly at any speed. And I simply love its beauty and performance. My lifetime car choice had been right all along. I have the Atomic Orange 3LT transparent removable roof. I can't seem to stay out of this car. I receive compliments on both cars each time I drive them. I agree with every positive thing I have read on this forum. Buy one if u can!
Vette Owner w/Real Objective Review
I've owned my '08 vette for 26 months and enjoy it. The car is great overall, is fun to drive, but is far from perfect. Here are the issues I've dealt with and you'll see why I gave the reliability a 3 ranking. After 1 week the glove box latch fell apart. In less than a year the rear end started clunking around corners, replaced the fluid. At year 1 the clutch pedal started squeaking every time it was released, replaced the position sensor. At year 1.5 a cam position sensor failed. After 2 years the water pump failed. Worst of all is that the first set of tires only lasted 16,000 miles with easy driving. Be prepared for lots of driving fun and numerous trips to the dealer for repairs.
2008 Z06 is a winner!
I love this car! I have had 4 back fusions and triple neck fusion and this fits like a glove. It is hard to get in and out of at 55 but once in it, I hate to get out. It is truly an amazing automobile, especially for the money. I have yet to have it over 155 but I can't wait. It performed very well on a NASCAR track, I can't tell you which one, obviously, but it was unbelievable going into a corner at 150 and the "G meter" shows only .6! I was too afraid to put it into the wall, plus my tires had 4500 miles on them. With sticky rubber, I think it could have gone into the corner at 175 but I am too old for that. WOW, you have to get one of these before you die!
BEST VETTE YET
I recently purchased an 08,z51 package and I love it.I've owned 4 vettes one being a 69 with 327 which I loved, but this baby is my favorite.I can complain about anything,it's great that. All American Chevy has taking the vettes to the next level,awesome...
Great overall car with some flaws
C6 LS3 Corvettes are arguably the best sports car value for the money. No other manufacturer can give you the performance, reliability, comfort, fuel economy, design and value that Chevrolet provides. I've owned my 'Vette for ~ 1 yr and can't be happier with the experiences thus far. The car has unbelievable amounts of HP and torque. The ride is quite comfortable too; on par with most sports sedans / coupes. The interior is a little sub par when taking into consideration the MSRP when new, but I'd recommend not purchasing new if you want to save some considerable money. The seats are a little flimsy, but for daily driving or simply cruising, the seats are more than adequate.
Perfect choice to replace old Vette
I owned a '69 427 pumped up Vette for 16 years. Decided at last, to replace it instead with a new one a few weeks ago. My old car was a beast, and this one equals it, but stock and under warranty! Chevy has finally brought back a true muscle car! Fun to drive, great gas mileage, unbelievably 26.5 mpg after a 3200 mile trip out west, and a rather comfortable ride to boot. I still miss my old car but this one takes away the pain leaving nothing to be desired.
2008 Black Coupe
I have owned Vette's starting with 67, 76, 95, 99 and now a 2008. All were coupe's with the exception of the 67 that was a vert. I use to say that the best build quality was the 67 until I purchased the 1999 and the most aggressive looking body style and bay far the best bass sound from the bose stereo was the 95. However, the 2008 coupe is by far the best overall corvette I have ever owned. My 99 was a great car with the z51 handling package but I picked up my 2008 and drove it 800 miles in 2 days and it hands down has the best ride and driver seat comfort. GM continues to impove on the American Icon each generation and I consider myself fortunate to have the opportunity to own one.
Simply awesome
427 cubes of modern day small block, push rod V8 engine technology is a wonderful thing! I never thought it would happen in an age of hybrids and ever greener emission standards. The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is the best of all worlds. Big time muscle car performance, yet still docile and comfortable enough for every day commuting. It don't get much better than this! Corvette still rules as America's #1 favorite sports car. Thank you Chevrolet!
$50k piece of junk
Considering all the good reviews I must have gotten the car built on a Friday before a holiday. This is the worst car I have ever owned. Worst paint job I have ever seen. Silver body doesnt match the gray front. Visible drips in the paint. Car was purchased new but I took it to a body shop to see if it was ever hit and repainted. Seams don't line up, door doesn't close flush. Worst stereo I have ever heard. Cheap interior. Center console was put on incorrectly. Window indexing mechanism was defective. Brakes continued to squeak even after service addressed issue. Loud and embarrassing buzzing/humming sound coming from the dash when car goes over 70mph. Too many other problems to list.
Best dollars spent
Smooth engine, watertight, amazing handling. Powerful, cheap compared to Europen competition. Reliable, no problems
Chuck's Vette
Great daily driver, low maintenance, low miles

BEAST MODE!!!
I purchased the vehicle for enjoyment it’s a great car got it at a great price has insane power. Drives awesome on the freeway handles like a dream just a fun car overall.
A Dream Come Thrue
I love this car, this is my dream car. Black 2008 Z06 with 3LZ pack, chrome wheels and Navigation system. It is everything I was expecting and more. A well and improved Corvette compared with the previous ones. A car in the mid $70,000 and capable of competing with the high prices cars like Porshe ect. The American auto industry is raising the bar with this car. I was shopping between all the new cars and I am very happy with my decision. The power in this car is unbelievable but at the same time it give you all the technology and accessories the perfect combination. I am using it as a daily driving car and no complaints at all. It making 16/28 MPG not bad for a 505 HP.
Just can't stop smiling
I've been a fan of the Corvette as long as I remember, but this is my first one. Comparing it to anything else I've ever driven... well, I just can't. It outperforms them all in just about every way. Obviously, it is a sportscar and no one can deny it's performance (even not considering it's price). I shopped several european vehicles and looked at a couple of Asian models. The only thing close of US manufacturer's are the Viper (not civil enough for me) and the Cadillac, which is a heavier underpowered Corvette. Nothing compared. Acceleration is incredible, handling sublime, but what I'm most impressed with is the comfort. I'm 6'3" and feel comfortable enough to enjoy a 10 hr trip
Wow!
I had an M3 ten years ago which was the benchmark for me for purchasing a new sports car. The Corvette handles as well as the M3 with an enormous amount of power. I still can't wipe the smile off of my face everytime I drive this car.
True sports coupe (Z06)
I purchased my first Vette ever(Red 2008 Z06). I traded a 07 BMW 335i (I miss it by the way). The Z06 feels very fast and safe. Ggreat handling, great brakes, fat tires, low to the ground, super wide, etc. The looks of this car is just unbelievable. The regular Vette looks so plain and simple compared to the fat fender z06. This car is a real challenge for Ferrari, Porsches, Lamborghinis, you name it. This car screams on the highway, the sound of the engine is spectacular. It makes you want to go to the garage and just start up the car so that you can hear the engine. This car is a perfect sport coupe with a huge trunk (best on its class)
My Blue Angel 2008 Corvette
Want to feel years younger? Buy a Corvette for yourself! Bought my Vett for a retirement gift to me, wanted one forever but life never made room till I retired. Bought new and I've owned for 10 years now. Best car I've ever owned keeps me young.

I'll get another one already
I have an 08 convertible with the 3LT option and my wife has the 08 coupe with the Z51 option and the dual mode exhaust. I did not get the exhaust option on mine or the Z51 option and quickly wanted to drive her car instead. Now I've added a GM performance exhaust system to mine and wooooo!!!! However, I am now already looking at jumping on an 09 model as they now offer the cyber grey color. I hope to get a dealer to put me into that car, otherwise my wife and I can still enjoy our two 08 models. Now I will shop for an 09 with the dual mode exhaust and Z51 options exclusively.
Wow!
Originally, I was going to get the wife a new Cadillac, and make my first Vette a used one. We both decided we weren't ready for the a Caddy, so we got a new Vette. The only comment I can make that says it all is that it is everything I dreamed it would be and more. We got the Z51 package, which is a little bit stiffer suspension. I was worried it might be a little rough riding, but it isn't. It's smooth as glass. I reccomend the Z51. The one option I didn't get and wish I had is the dual mode exhaust. Even without it, it still has a pretty good sound to it. If you take it easy on the highway, you can get pretty close to 30mpg, which is amazing for 430 HP. It's a rocket on wheels.
New and improved
I traded in my 2005 C6 with z51 for a 2008 base model 6m with just the Z51 option. I purchased the new 2008 for just under 42k(thats around $800 under invoice. The new car is almost like a night and day difference. The new c6 has a much nicer interior, much tighter and quiter ride, much better shifting and steering and last, but not least, the power of the new engine. I can defenitely tell the difference in acceleration. I think Chevy under estimated the 430 horses to make a larger gap in horse power for the Z06. This new car is just simply amazing.
Best Ever
I have owned five Corvettes in my life, but my 2008 is the first new one I have had. In 2004 I bought a beautiful black 2002 convertible and I really loved it, then I began reading about the 2008 and the new engine, and I figured since I had just turned 60 I would by a new Corvette. I ordered a Crystal red convertible, ebony interior, dual mode exhaust and LT3 package. I have not been disappointed, it handles like a dream, it feels so tight and manageable and when you just step on the gas, not floor it, you are doing 70 before you know it, but the best part is that almost every time I take it out, strangers will stop and tell me that is the "best looking car I've ever seen". No problems.
Tony's 3rd and best Corvette
This is my 3rd Corvette 1993-C4, 1998-C5, and now 2008-C6-LT3. I got another all Black version with the LT3 package, 6sp manual, Navigation system, Z-51 handling package with dual exhaust system. I must be a masochist for getting black a third time but when clean nothing looks better. By far this is the best Corvette I have ever owned. The vehicle now really has the horse power to be called a Corvette. The handing is crisp and precise and the acceleration is enough to cause whiplash. I have installed some additions; mesh grill, wild to mild exhaust controller, CAGS eliminator, iPod interface with HD radio and better rear speakers (Focals). Other than that I can see nothing else to change.
WOW
Well I feel like a little kid because after having many different cars over the years I finally found my favorite new toy. Quite simply put, this car is the American Dream in all its glory. Go drive one and you will understand....
2008 Corvette Convertible
Amazing car - impressive acceleration and handling when driven hard. Smooth and quiet when driven soft. Surprisingly good fuel economy - 23-25 mpg. Good trunk space - even with the top down. Low cost insurance. Zero problems after 24K miles.
Vette Lover
We bought our 2008 coupe a little over two years ago. It had 46000 miles then. I had all the fluids changed and did some detailing on it but, haven’t had any trouble with it at all. I replaced the battery a few months ago. I mostly just do a little cruising on the weekends but, we have taken it on a couple of short road trips. It’s a pleasure to drive and quite comfortable. She’s Jetstream Blue with Titanium interior and gets a lot of compliments. I plan on keeping her until I get too old to get in and out of her!

Bought used 2008 Z06, owned it for 5 years.
I bought the car in 2014 with 27,000 miles on it as the second owner. Color: silver (still looks great in 2019 - no rust). All stock, previous owner only added the ZR1 spoiler from that era, tinted the windows, and had a clear scotch guard bra applied. Tires and brakes are expensive. Easily spent $1500 on tires and now it’s time to do the brakes. Reliability: I’ve had two issues with the tire pressure sensors. Note: sensors only have a shelf life of 10 years. Get them replaced for $60-$80 at Discount Tire. The driver side door handle also froze up and refused to open. I had to pull the manual cable under the seat: cost $400. Batteries 🤦♂️: so this car has a notorious issue with killing batteries when left parked for over a week. I killed two batteries before buying the Battery Tender $30 value. I’ve driven the car across country in mid summer and clocked 31 mpg two years in a row now; the car passed 40k miles in June of 2019. People aren’t buying corvettes for fuel economy but man what a surprise for a 7.0 liter V8. I had the trunk full and A/C on as outside temps were 80-90 degrees between central Texas to Kansas. The engine and transmission have had no issues but as stated before electronics are beginning to have problems. One last issue,GM’s tracking an issue with the digital clock in the radio. The clock disappeared after the second battery was replaced. Still waiting GMs patch, good thing I have a wrist watch. Update July 2020. Sold. While the engine and transmission ran fine, electronics continued to fail. GM gremlins froze windows down, headlights were showing signs of rain water inside the housing,

Wow, No, Wow
Unbeliveable. Never another import. This Corvette blew them away. Steering, ride and all out raw power. I can never see me ever owning another sports car. Drive it every day. Great mileage for a true American sports car.
Good God!
I had a Honda for transportation and a Harley for fun. My father had just bought an 04 convertible and I had my first drive in it two weeks ago. I got the bug. I test drove an 07 and didn't feel much more power than the 04. Plus the interior was cheesy. Drove the 08 LT1 and and when I punched it the first time, an involuntary expletive burst out of my mouth. I could not believe that this car was street legal. The LS3 engine is night and day from the LS2. Plus, the interior was much nicer. I couldn't wait for an LT2 or 3 and bought it that day. Run, don't walk to the dealership and get one of these. You won't regret it.
Neck Snapping Fast
I have only owned sports cars, and this is the fastest car I have ever owned. Had several Mustangs, Porsches, and now my first Chevrolet. The 6.2 litre is has more horsepower than most will be able to handle. This car could break the tires loose in 4th gear. I almost didn't purchase the car because I thought the interior was kind of cheap looking. But I have adjusted. Car sounds good! Who doesn't like an American V8. Had some issues with heated seats, headlight, and stereo is subpar.
Boyhood dream
I've salivated over Vettes ever since the 1958 model came out, and still think the 58 - 61 models are the most beautiful cars ever made. Wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth, so my first vehicles weren't much to talk about, then along came wife and children. Children all grown now with their own children, so I love my machine silver 2008 LT3 convertible with titanium interior and gray top. My wife never liked Vettes, but now she's a fan too! Nearing 16,000 miles and only one small issue - the cheap plastic glove box latch broke and was replaced under warranty. NPP option is nice. I added a "mild to wild" module (easy to do) so I can run in either mode at touch of a button.
My C6 is my first Vette
Have 50,000 miles on it so far and it’s a beast. Love it! I got it in June of 2008. Update: I now have 75,000 miles on it as it’s my daily driver. It’s just like any other car. If you take care of it, it’ll take care of you. It’s been awesome. Like I said I drive mine to and from work, which is a 58 mile round trip and I love it. If you’re going to be stuck in traffic you may as well be sitting in a car you like. I have a cold air intake, Diablo tune and Magnaflow cat back exhaust so it’s fun to drive and sounds better than stock but it’s reliable. And I’ve upgraded the sound system to Alpine INE-W970HD head unit, Infiniti 5 channel amp with all Infiniti speakers except my 2-12” JL Audio subs. It’s an earthquake machine as well as a car. But to the point, the alternator handles all that power very nicely. I changed the starter 1 time. I can’t say why it went bad but it did. I still have zero complaints. Double DIN for my

Unbelievable
I have been a Ford man for many years and never liked Corvettes. This is an unbelievable car in performance, handling, braking and fuel economy. In highway driving I can easily get 26 or 27 MPG, this is incredible for a 500 HP car. The seats are very comfortable as is the driving position. The car is hard to get in and out because it is very low to the ground. The suspension is very stiff which does not bother me but could be to much for some owners. This car is scary fast !
Best US sports car you can buy
For the money, the Corvette is a nearly impecible sports car. The car is extremely fun to drive. I've had the car for 6 months and dont regret it at all. The only American vehicle to make forbes recent top vehicle list, it ties for first with the Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG. I believe it deserves this title. You will probaly never use the speed but its extremely fun to have. The quality and speed could be compared to that of the Porshe, Maserati, and maybe a Ferrari. All in all if you are thinking of buying a corvette, stop thinking and start doing.
08 Corvette Coupe
Ordered a 08 coupe back in October. Arrived at the dealer on 12/11/07. Took delivery on 12/12/07. Just completed the 500 mile break-in. Love the improvement in the steering. Better on center feel. Love the NPP exhaust. Finally the C6 sounds like a sports car. Nice deep/throaty sound. Best new feature is the LS3 v8 engine. 436 hp and sooooo silky smooth! Glad I made the upgrade from a 05 C6 coupe. Love it when other drivers pull up along side me at a traffic light and give me that "Geez I wish I had your car" look. "Americas Sports Car" is awesome for 2008!
Z06 compresses time and space.
With 500 or so horsepower in a 3200-lb. car, things happen a lot faster than you expect, and you get from point A to point B a lot faster than you expected. And this isn't the first fast car I've owned. But I'd love the Z06 if it had half the power--the Corvette team "added lightness" (aluminum, titanium, magnesium and carbon fiber) and the car feels alive. Yet the Z06 isn't particularly punishing, except for the gas bill. The handling is sharp, up to a point. I've never tracked it, and the car's limits are so high that it's difficult or impossible to explore them on the street, but my sense, based on some "spirited" driving in the hills, is that you take a Z06 past 8/10s at your peril. It's extremely easy to get the car out of shape with a little too much throttle, even at low speeds. Whether there's too much power for the chassis, or the chassis doesn't give enough feedback for the car to inspire confidence at or near the limit, I don't know. Probably both. The unpredictability is part of the thrill, of course, but I'd think twice before turning off the traction control. Anyway, it's the first car in 46 years of driving that hasn't ended up boring me. Tremendous bang for the buck, as long as you can keep it pointed straight. Update 4/18/19: Ended up selling the car back to the dealership a few months ago, and not feeling particularly bad about it. Big thrills, but also big expenses. People think that because it's a Chevy, it's basically an Impala with a swoopy body, something that can be repaired with simple hand tools, but in reality it's a very complex car, and the mechanicals are stuffed in so tight that many repairs involve unpacking one or two other bits to get to what needs attention. This isn't a complaint, just a heads up, and the car is tremendous value. But no ultra-high performance car is cheap. Like they say, you have to pay to play. Get something with as few miles as possible (just like an exotic) and be prepared for the day when the repair bills make you wonder if it's worth it.

Fun Factor = 10
This is my second Corvette. After owning a 1986 Vette that I sold due to 2 teenage boys I just had to have another once they moved out. This Vette will keep a smile on your face. Very fun car to own and drive! Zero problems in the first 6 months and 2k miles of ownership. Paddle-shifting at full throttle with the optional dual-mode exhaust is a blast! Great handling and smooth ride - hard to believe you could have both! I expect we'll keep this Vette for quite some time and then pass it down to the kids.
What a beast!
I finally pulled the trigger when Chevy had the employee pricing. I couldn't be happier with the car. The acceleration is breathtaking. The lines of the car are sharp and a real eye catcher. My only complaint on this beast is the stereo sound system. For $70K put a good sound system in. I purchased the atomic orange Z06 and it accelerates like an atomic bomb and the roar of the exhaust is better than the stereo anyways. I have owned a 1990 Vette and the technology now is just unbelievable especially the Z06. Am I happy with the car, heck yes.
2008 Z51 Manual Transmission Convertible, 1 of 923
Second owner and have put 8k miles on the car in 10 months, totaling 31k. I can't speak to every Corvette and will speak toward mine. It's amazing. No squeaks, creaks or rattles. Incredible power whenever you'd like it, and the exhaust note is magic. Mine is a factory dual mode car, with the fuse pulled. I've crushed new 5.0 ponies easily. The top end of 4th, or my fifth gear shift happens about 147 mph. Most of my passengers tap out before I grab fifth. Ultimately I was hoping to find out how rare my configuration really is. Destroyed Z06 427 engine
The engine in my 2008 Z06 427 Corvette destroyed itself at highway speeds when the intake and exhaust valves fell into the combustion chambers. The local chevy dealer told me the block was cracked and it would cost $15,000 for a new engine. I sold the car and suffered a $30,000 loss. Only to find out later the block was not really cracked. GM knows about the valve seal problem but has failed to do anything about it. The Corvette is a piece of crap don't buy it. I would only change my opinion if GM sent me a check for $15,000.

Bob"s ZO6
This is the third Corvette I have owned in the past four years. One was a 2004 C5 and the other one was a 2005 C6. This 2008 ZO6 is by far the best handling and performing vehicle I have driven in many years. The reviews are correct for stating that this car is the "best bang for the buck"
A Dream Come True
My First Vette - Crystal Red Metallic/ Cashmere interior. I have been looking and wanting a Vette for over 40 years, ever since I had my 69 GTO Judge. Your going to spend some money on your dream car, then dont cut corners. I got all the options. I love the Nav System. The Z51 package is a must. Chrome wheels. The 3LT PEG gives you all you need (headsup display, heated seats, memory pkg, Bose). Six-Speed Paddle Shift w Auto modes, you have a standard without a clutch and an automatic. Remove the Roof Panel and you really improve the looks, more folks turn their heads as you drive past. With premium gas the cost to drive is less than my F150. The cost of insurance is also less than my truck.
