Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsAlthough wheelspin is possible, the best launch was without it. This V6 sounds better than most (especially the VQs from Nissan) and has a linearity in power delivery that others also lack. Upshifts were moderately quick but never harsh. Manual shifting didn't work as well due to the delay inherent in buttons.
Braking ratingVery Good
Braking commentsVery good brakes, quiet ABS, straight and steady with good fade resistance. Pedal could offer more sense of what's going on, however. A little dead feeling.
Handling ratingGood
Handling commentsSkid pad: Benign and terminal understeer at the limit will keep most folks from getting into trouble. Hard to judge where the front tires were (especially in clockwise direction) and not much info from steering either. I hate the faux shift paddles (buttons) and wished for a redundant manual shifter at the lever. Hard to find buttons with opposite lock. Slalom: Quick turn-in is followed with ever-present understeer, so getting a rhythm was difficult. Found myself steering late into a gate several times. Also, it's difficult to sense where the corners of the car are. Just enough power at the exit for a teeny bit of oversteer.
