2016 BMW X3 xDrive28i 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 8A)

I have really enjoyed this vehicle until my CID display recently died on me. Took it to the dealer and they told me BMW does not just sell the display as a replacement part, but that I had to purchase an entire new sub assembly that included the display as well as other components. The other components are not needed to replace the display, so why does BMW force you to have to buy an …
