Lives up to it’s vibe
It truly is the ultimate driving machine. That is the number one thing that hits and soothes you behind the wheel. No other car drives or feels like this car does. It does not matter if you want the performance or the pure luxury. It delivers both.
Overall I like it very much.
Update after 16 months of ownership:Recently found “service engine soon” light is on and OBD code P0578 which is thermostat heater circuits open, had it replaced last Monday at local mechanic in Bronx,NY. Part costs for $67 and labor $150. Total after tax and tips 260 dollar for a 61K miles SAV(I bought it when it’s 41K). It’s not bad at all, I am looking forward of the future companion with my bimmer. Updated after one year ownership: I still love this vehicle even though you offer the 2016 version for exchange I would take the 2015 version again. The only change I would have is replace the run flat tire, they are very expensive ($280 each from my experience of fixing a punch on the tire). Also, it doesn’t have all the new technology such as ACC, lane keeping and ventilated seat which I definitely would like to have in the summer. The cabin noise is under control, ride is comfortable and acceleration is confident. It’s a fabulous daily sav for me. Trade in my civic for better power commute vehicle. I am single and dating a lady in Boston so in most of scenario I am the only person who driving this Bimmer. It’s 3” shorter than my civic but taller and wider. The steering is firm at low speed I guess that what you would expect from a BMW, acceleration is also sound more than enough to passing at 60. It does have bit road noise but no as bad as my civic. Interior is beautiful,

My BMW X1 Experience
I absolutely love my BMW X1..... I was very blessed to get it with only 48000 miles on it in April the 2023.... It was in top notch mint condition. It drives and handles amazingly... Smallest SUV I've ever own. But I feel so safe driving it.

A Sports Car Cleverly Disguised as an SUV
This car is a lot of fun to drive. It accelerates faster than my Porsche 911S and handles about as well. I live in Colorado and I have no reservations about driving this car in the mountains in winter. Very few cars pass me going uphill on some of the steepest grades and it handles mountain switchbacks beautifully. It is so comfortable for the driver (I'm 6'1") and passenger on long road trips, although the back seat can be a little cramped for people over 6'. Reliability is great. One thing I do not like is there is no spare tire and I have to rely on my run-flat tires. My wife finds only one cup conventional holder a little inconvenient. The low tire pressure alarms are very sensitive, which causes problems with our temperature extremes. None of these inconveniences takes away from the enjoyment of driving this car, however. I thought about upgrading to a newer X1, but I'm not willing to give up my 6-cylinder engine.
X1 a poor man's Macan S
We needed to replace our car in the mountains for our vacation home and decided on the BMW X1 SAV. This is our 1st BMW (currently I drive a Porsche 997 C2 Cab and my wife drives a Porsche Cayenne S at our main home) and initially after test driving liked it (but I was leaning toward a Volvo V60 Cross Country...but was unable to work out the deal that I wanted) but after driving it for 2 weeks I more than like it! Amazing performance (for a turbo 4) and great gas mileage. Handling is superb....not my 911 type of handling...as it is not a sports car, but for what it is and for it's price tag superb. The best I have driven up to the Macan (which is in a totally different category all together!). There are a few downsides which are lack of storage inside the vehicle (ours is a 2015 and I have been told that it has been somewhat rectified with the 2016 year model) and...maybe just 1 downside then! Very happy so far.
