2012 Audi Q5 - Edmunds Ratings

2012 Audi Q5 3.2 Premium quattro (3.2L V6 AWD 6-speed Automatic)
Date Driven: 6/29/2010 (2010 3.2 Premium)
Performance Although wanting for torque, there's good power from the 3.2L V6. The six-speed transmission has a Sport shift mode and shift paddles, but is slow to downshift in automatic mode.
Driving Dynamics The steering feels heavy and has an un-natural effort build-up. However, the Q5 is overall more fun to drive than a Lexus RX.
Ride Comfort Ride comfort is good, but softer with a little more movement compared to its German competitors.
Quietness Generally quiet with just a bit of wind noise.
Ergonomics Good HVAC and audio controls, however the MMI Navigation controller is difficult to use.
Visibility Great front and rear visibility for a midsize crossover, but the driver-side mirror blocks the view when making left turns and creates an uncomfortable feeling.
Seat Access & Space Very comfortable seats for a small luxury crossover with good space.
Cargo & Storage There's a low liftover height of 27.3 inches, and enough cargo space for two big suitcases plus one carry-on suitcase even with the second row up.
Build Quality Quality materials and build quality throughout.
