3rd A4 in a row, this one better than ever!
Best car I've ever owned, hands down. I am a 3 time A4 owner and love the significant improvements they've made in the 2018. Sport Package and Black Optics set off the look and the front sport seats grip my body in spirited driving. Dynamic blend of performance and luxury. 100% would buy again

A real eye-catcher, but not without some issues.
Traded in my 2005.5 A-4, which I dearly loved and still miss to this day. As the cars are night and day different, there was a lengthy learning curve with the new one, both sticks by the way. I miss the old days when I figured out who was around me and I determined the best time to hit the brake! The first few times the car braked for me I freaked out! This one handles well but not exceptionally like my old one. It’s darn fast though and well-made, and quite handsome. The Bang and Olafson is superb. The tranny is smooth and effortless. My two major complaints, the brakes are annoyingly grabby, and the cruise-control stalk is dangerously close to my knee, and I’m not that tall. I accidentally engaged it once and it was downright scary. The mileage is very good, and we’re getting used to one another slowly but surely. One last thing...I went to check the oil and couldn’t find the dipstick. Why? Because there is none.

New Owner
Have now owned the car for 7 months and went in with high expectations. Happy to say they have all been exceeded. Great drive, excellent handling, great technology. Exceeded all expectations. Just keeps getting better!

Very different from any car I ever owned.
Easily the best machine I have owned or driven. The A4 is light on its feet and will simply outrun my former Subbie WRX and does not rob you of your dental fillings doing it. Fit and finish is excellent. I like the styling. Not so much flourish and swoops as now appears the vogue with Lexus. I also have owned Lexus IS 250. Not even close to Audi anymore. Don't know what Lexus is thinking these days.

New to Audi
Purchased my A4 premium plus quattro a few months ago. Very happy with the car. Looks great, very quiet on the road, lots of tech. Only complaint is a few bugs with Apple CarPlay - Although this may be my iPhone/Apple’s problem. I use this for my work commute, Smooth/sporty ride and great fuel economy so far. This really surprised me, going around 70 to 75 on the highway I get about 38 MPG, and this is the more powerful Quattro version. Very impressive so far.

Best Car Ever!
With one exception, a 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass, I've driven cars with manual transmissions since 1962. starting with a four on the floor Corvair Monza. I've had a Volvo, Hondas, Acuras and for many recent years, a successions of SAABs until they disappeared from the market. Seeking the best replacement, I found the 2012 A4 the closest to my beloved SAABs. With manual transmission available in all lines, not just the bottom feeder. the A4 turned out to be a great alternative. Now I have a new 2018 A4 Premium Plus in the gorgeous Matador Red color, light beige seating, with the only option being the wood inlay trim. It is a car that exudes class inside and out. It is by far the best handling and performing car I have ever owned. And the standard Bang & Olufsen sound system is glorious. From a value perspective, Audi beats BMW and Mercedes because the standard equipment on the Premium Plus model would add substantially to the cost of those cars.

Audi leads the way
2018 improvements make the purchase of the new A4 a solid investment that will provide enjoyment and a sense of pride for years to come. We recently replaced our 2009 A4 with 121,000 trouble free miles with a new 2018 A4 Premium Plus Quattro. Both cars are from AudiTampa purchased and serviced there.

Best German Entry Lux Sedan of 2018
Before you drop your spare change on any other car in this class, you owe it to yourself to test drive this one. I was shopping for a C300 with my wife. I was so impressed with this I had to buy one for myself.

Audi A4 Quattro makes me feel younger!
My previous car was a BMW 528i and it felt great. However, once I drove the A4 I could feel the difference in handling and traction/stability on the road. I am having more fun in this car and it has all the bells and whistles too! At 71 I think I deserve a zippy car for a change.

Fantastic All Around
I traded a perfectly good two year SUV for this because I wanted to drive a manual transmission again and this was one of the only options with AWD and good performance. I have not been disappointed; it's the nicest car I have ever owned. The 2.0 turbo is great, the 6 speed is a joy to drive. The Bang and Olufsen is amazing. I was a little concerned about the need for premium fuel but at over 30 mpg in mixed driving, it costs less than my previous SUV that ran on regular. Of note to Audi (should they read this): as nice a car as this is I would not have purchased with an automatic and it will be my one and only if they stick to their plans of discontinuing the manual transmission. It a fabulous car but hard to justify the cost if I don't get to do the actual driving.

Nothing but trouble
I’ve owned this vehicle for about 2 years now. I love how I feel in the driver’s seat, and the car is fast with great gas mileage. However, I’ve had this car in the shop every 2000 miles for one thing or another. I’ve had two seatbelt components replaced, drivers seat lumbar support repaired, rear window chatter in cold repaired, transmission oil pump replaced, and most recently a brand new rear differential. On top of this, the transmission shifts hard in early gears and smooths out in later gears. I’m not sure if this vehicle is a garbage bin, or if the previous owner drove this car way too hard. Either way, I haven’t been able to enjoy this vehicle like I should.

Beyond automotive excellence
I have driven Audis for decades, starting in 1980 and always loved the brand. Audi has a long, storied history dating back to the early 1900s, with distinguished heritage. It always pushes the boundary of technology & Innovation (hence the German motto “Vorsprung durch Technik”), not to mention a winning racing pedigree (Grand Prix in the 1930s, rallying in the 1980s, SCCA Trans Am, IMSA GTO, European super touring in the 1990s, 24 Hours of Le Mans and American Le Mans series in the 2000s, Audi R8 competition in the 2010s, and soon, Formula 1). The cars from Audi have character and style, and a unique combination of performance without sacrificing comfort & convenience. They are not mere transportation. This “B9” generation A4 (mine is an “ultra” Premium Plus S-line submodel & trim level) is the 7th Audi in my family. It is without question the most technologically advanced I have driven yet. The tech is not there for its own sake, it genuinely serve many functions and make them easy to use via the MMI interface as well as direct input switches on the center console and steering wheel. The more I learn about the little touches that the tech provide, the better I come to appreciate what the engineers thought of when designing the car. The result is sublime. The suspension is stiffly sprung like a good German sport sedan should be, and the result is quick and sharp handling despite the car’s size and weight, yet the body structure is stiff enough, and the low NVH characteristics makes the ride serene and comfortable on most roads. The engine is a marvel. With only 2.0 liter displacement, it nevertheless provides a satisfying rush of torque, power and acceleration when you step on it, all the while being very quiet. It feels so effortless! What’s more impressive, is how it manages to be fuel-efficient while pulling a car that weighs over 4000 lbs. I average about 28mpg in mixed city/highway driving. At 70 mph, the engine cruises at around 1500 rpm in top gear (it has a 7-speed "S-Tronic", a dual clutch manual transmission operated by computer, so you drive it like an automatic). The car has a fuel tank with around 13 gallons capacity, and a full tank can go more than 500 miles! Last but not least, the car is roomy inside, with ample leg room and head room even in the back. The trunk is cavernous, too. All that wrapped in a body that’s sleek and good looking, unlike other brands, the new Audi design language is elegance with a healthy dose of fierce attitude, but it’s not overdone. Inside and out, every surface, every line or curve is a feast to the sight and the touch. Every drive in this car is a treat to the senses! I’m very happy with this purchase.

Hate the technology
The car is comfortable, drives well, has good power, and gets suprisingly good gas mileage. I get 39 mpg on the highway. The problem for me is the technology. The audi connect is a grossly overpriced data plan. Without it, many of your tech features dont work. The navigation is a nightmare. During the sales cycle I was shown how easy it was to upgrade maps. Download to an sd card, plug it in and upload. Dealership even offered to do the first couple free. Well.... when I went to get that first free one, they wanted $500. So, I set out to do myself. First you have to make sure you can configure java so that you can connect to download. Then you have to download 10gb @ myaudi server speed 0f about 200kb/sec. Meanwhile, it keeps timing out. This is an all day affair folks.... and no, it isnt my connection or lack of tech savvy. Google it.

The strong, silent type
The ride is supple yet not fatiguing. You feel the road but it does not affect comfort. You hear almost no road noise and can have a conversation at normal voice inside. Acceleration is brisk and satisfying. Though using premium 91 octane fuel, the payoff is great mileage if you allow the automatic stop start feature and coast to stops. Interior seating comfort is excellent and the driver's seat can be dialed in perfectly. Controls are easy to use, the display large enough to read, and the connectivity for iPhones and Android phones makes it easy to enjoy multiple information sources.

Luxurious daily driver, power when you want it
Technology is top of the market, instrumentation is incredible. Settings available can change the car from comfortable daily cruiser to powerful sport machine with the touch of a button. Controls are overwhelming at first but intuitive once learned. Perfect daily driver that can become a sport machine when you want it.

Very impressive technology
This car is extremely fuel efficient in the Ultra model, the high style Bauhaus design is compelling , and the interior is the most quiet out there except for a Rolls Royce or Bentley. Styling is very tasteful and cutting edge. Ergonomics are sound. Telematics are excellent. Ride quality compares favorably to my S class Mercedes.

Poor customer service; lots of immature technology
Pros: 1) Great fuel economy for an all wheel drive car that sprints to 60 in 5.3 seconds. Have averaged 31.4 mpg over 31,000 miles. 2) Probably the best value in he German entry level luxury segment, with the car costing thousands less than a similar equipped Mercedes or BMW. 3) Outstanding performance on snow and ice. Even with standard all season tires and no chains this car isn't the least bit phased by heavy winter conditions in the mountains. 4) Arguably the nicest design in its class. Cons: 1) Lots of technology that is poorly executed. Audi seems to have done away with the German concept of "Serienreife" (readiness for mass production). My iPhone mostly connects with the car but often doesn't. The front passenger seat belt alarm goes off when I place my iPhone on the seat, as if passengers now have the weight of an iPhone! The rear view camera stays on even after hundreds of yards of driving FORWARD as long as you don't exceed 10 mph (on all other Audis it switches off at around 7 mph), creating a potentially dangerous and annoying distraction. (I checked with Audi in the US and Germany, but there doesn't appear to be a software update for this glitch.) The rear view screen takes up a third of the screen showing you an icon that indicates that you are using the rear view camera, though the car doesn't have any other cameras, just taking up valuable screen real estate. The "comfort access" automatic door unlocking sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. While it works flawlessly on the A6, on the A4 it works well enough that you use it on a regular basis, just to be annoyed when the darn doors don't open (typically as you have heavy shopping bags in your hands). The ABS makes a loud clonking sounds, which as per Audio is the "self-check" of the system. (No other German car I have driven, whether BMW, Mercedes or VW has ever made such a weird sound, and neither does the 2019 version of the car.) 2) Garbage standard tires that bubble (as per TireRack this appears to be a common problem with this tire, but Audi refuses to take any responsibility). 3) The power steering feels as numb as in a Toyota. You get zero feedback, limiting the fun. 4) The car understeers and doesn't have 50/50 front/back weight distribution and drives a bit cumbersome on windy roads. 5) The 4 cylinder engine sounds a bit coarse, though to be fair, given the performance and fuel economy one probably shouldn't complain. 6) The Audi customer service is very poor across the board and clearly much worse than Mercedes or BMW. Even simple parts, like regulators, have to be ordered from Germany, and Audi doesn't see any reason to expedite the shipping, so these orders typically take about a month! Sometimes the dealership refuses to do warranty work or has to be pressed to look into issues. I have tried various dealerships and had the same experience across the board. 7) Typically when work is done the dealership fixes one problem and creates another. I had an oil change done and they overfilled the oil! I had my water pump replaced and again the overfilled the coolant. A seat frame was replaced and I got the car back with various deep scratched in the plastic which then had to be replaced etc. 8) Total incompetence of the sales department. There person selling me my car told me the engine doesn't have to be broken in as that's done "at the factory." All the while the manual says exactly the opposite. 9) Various parts fail WAY too early. My water pump failed at 10,000 miles (!), a rear window regulator at 20,000 miles and the replacement is failing again another 10,000 miles later... One tire bubbled after 10,000 miles and needed to be replace, which Audi refused to cover. Overall: Outstanding car for winter driving, fuel economy for the acceleration and power. Nice interior design, probably best value among the German entry level luxury cars, but the car is plagued by poor technical execution in many area, and Audi's customer service is outright lousy. Some of the programming would be fine if Audi provided automatic software updates like Tesla does, but that not the case, so you will have to live with the flaws as long as you have the car...

A Solid Mid-Size Fun Car.
I feel safe in the driving of this sedan. I have driven 2 door coupes all my life, this first sedan feels as sporty, handles as well and performs beautifully. Has great acceleration , relatively solid and stable even thought it is nor s heavy as the pervious German coupes I have driven. I have the Black Optic package with high gloss exterior accent, 20in. titanium wheels and tires along with the Sport package for a dynamic stability. This is a beautiful luxury car and the best for the value.

Just OK for the class
Nice but not exceptional. Solid quiet drivetrain although steering lacks some power & road feel for this class. Premium fuel for mediocre performance (base engine) is disappointing. Nice interior coachwork, as with most Audis, except the leather is a bit downscale to the touch. Very comfortable front seats. Rear seats cramped except for kids or small adults. Trunk is small as well. Not a bad car, but shop around before deciding.

Great Car But....
This car does exactly what we needed it to do- take us from A to B with decent cargo and let's face it, pretty dang comfy front seats (there's only two of us and we rarely have passengers, but the rear heated seats are nice to have, and the same goes for the three zone climate control). The B&O speaker system is pretty good, and I can confirm that it is much more comfortable than some other cars on the market, as I have been asleep in the passenger seat while it was going well over 80mph. But after owning it for a few years, the LEDs in the center cupholders have started to yellow, and the Bang and Olufsen metal tab on the passenger door speaker consistently has stuck out (we even brought it up to Audi when we were having it serviced and they glued it in place, but it still pops out. At one point, I caught it with my foot getting out, and accidentally bent it, but that actually seems to have helped, as it's now sort of bent in to place). So overall, it's a great car, but I don't anticipate it living past 100k miles.

Balanced & Spirited
First off, my manual has the "Sport Plus" package, so the interior has a brilliant alcantara small patterned seat with the S-Line imprint badge, squared off steering wheel, among other design features. The head rest is the perfect bit of soft and solid. The aluminium trim looks so clean. The turn signal feels very cheap. The exterior front is amazing, while the rear is just a tad old man. What helps the look on mine is the subtle optional carbon fiber spoiler. This upgraded TFSI 4-cyl engine is needed. I would not accept the power of the entry level 2.0T unfortunately. I keep the dynamic suspension setting on all the time to keep it as stiff as possible. Both of these features and slightly lower coils are from Sport Plus option as well. I am so happy that I purchased the final year manual 6-speed A4s in North America. The clutch is smooth and light weight. The stick itself does has a pause/resistance between gears, but I understand that this car is not designed for daily heel/toe shifting. Overall, it is the best car I could find for the value. I feel that Audi now offers the best balance of tech, sport, and luxury out of the car brands. I saved 10% off MSRP but paid the savings entirely to the pricey extended warranty.

Pukemobile!
I am facing a very odd situation where most of my passengers are experiencing headaches and motion sickness which sometimes ends up in a grand finale. It all began pretty much early on during the first months of ownership, I thought that it was my driving style but definitely no, same people had no problem riding along in my other cars and most of the driving is in NYC or around the tri-state area, all new riders share the same symptoms as well. I ended up not driving it much and have reached out to Audi USA for a solution (yet again after a few previous attempts). Multiple dealers heard out the story but all they can do is to shake heads and shrug the shoulders. Very disappointing experience with Audi. Otherwise I would say that it is a fair all-rounder and gets the job done, but nothing it does well can redeem it from its new nickname, ladies and gentleman, please meet, a Pukemobile! EXTERIOR: Ok, lets you to blAnd in with the traffic. INTERIOR: Nice dashboard and front overall, while seats are flat and lack side bolstering (relates only to a base Premium trim). DRIVING: Ok, lets you to push it when needed but to a point. Acceleration is adequate for the 2.0T engine and the weight of the car, no complaints. Highway overtaking should be done preferably in Sport mode or using paddle shifters. Ride is smooth enough on base 17" wheels. Turbo lag is there and can be felt when driving off from the standstill or in a crawling traffic. And onto the elephant in this car... TRANSMISSION: HORRIBLE, supper annoying huge lag when switching between D-N-R, will make you hear lots of honking in the busy NY streets. Odd gating (gate sensors) of the gear lever will make you miss the gears (D-N-R) quite often. However when already in motion over 25mph, the transmission works just fine. COMFORT & ENTERTAINMENT: Base sound system is not on par with base systems in BMWs or MBs, way below and does not deliver even adequate sound quality. Apple CarPlay works as designed, but probably 9 out of 10 times. FUEL EFFICIENCY: as claimed by Audi and not much to report there. QUALITY: overall fit & finish is good but started developing random squeaky noises in about 10-11 months or 6K miles. VERDICT: Solid 3 stars, 1 star knocked off for being a mysterious Pukemobile and 1 star off for that transmission. Pretty disappointed with Audi at this point.
