106K miles and no problems yet
My A4 wagon has been the best vehicle I've owned. It's comfortable, get's great gas mileage, and looks like a million bucks. I perform regular maintenance like changing the oil and brakes, timing belt at 100K, etc, and the car takes care of the rest. Only once did I have a trouble (engine stuttering) and the cost to fix the issue was $150. I bought this car used and the value for the price has been incredible. It's safe and peppy. I have no complaints.
looks,quality,surefooted, but no go!
When we got the A4 avant for my wife a year ago,we knew the car was a beauty, and we suspected great built quality, and we got it. What we did not know is that the 1.8turbo matched to the 5 speed auto is almost slow, noisy at high rpms, and very thirsty for so few inches. Why offer this combo to such unsuspecting public?I know the torque is excellent and that there is almost no turbo lag,but pleeeeaaase, at 37 grands out the door,we deserve better performance!. Apart from that,it is very comfortable, handles beautifully, and a very pleasant place to spend time in ,unless you are going up a slope, fully loaded, with the dog in the back.

Audi A4 has a serious enginer problem
Engine coils failed one by one on my brand new A4. I heard the same thing happening on other cars. Audi must issue a recall.
Great Car but Terrible Gas Mileage
This 2002 Audi Avant Automatic with an average of 17mpg. I can do straight highway and still only get 20mpg. Now the sticker says I should be getting 19 city and 28 Highway. But that is a bold- face lie. NO!, I wish Audi would post an accurate MPG on the sticker so buyers would be aware of what cost they are getting into. Another feature i don't like is the oil changes at 10,000 mile intervals. The dealer does not know if I have motor oil or synthetic? Services are supposed to be free for 4yr or 50,000 miles. mmm I used to change my oil every 3000 miles.
An 800-Mile Impression (now that's new)
The fit and finish of this vehicle is amazing. If you want to know what I mean, check out the door jams between the Audi A4 Avant and the Volvo V40 the next time you are at a car show. The paint is perfect. We already have one tiny nick and can see the undercoating - no bare metal. So the metal is very well protected.
