One simple but valuable habit to have with any vehicle is to check engine oil and all fluid levels every time you stop for gas. Many people never look under the hood as they believe it's done by service station then when things happen they cannot give statistics on service neither have an idea if burning oil has been a problem and for how long.
My Versa is 15 months old and has 39,000 highway miles on it. It just stopped on me one day about 4 months ago. I checked the oil, which was low,put oil in it and it started back up. I took to to the dealer for an oil change and they said everything was good. About a month ago it starts feeling sluggish and stalling. I assumed it needed more oil ... Read More
On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2011, my car would not start as it was - 15 degrees. The service man came, and gave me a boost, told me to run the car for 1 hour before turning it off. Naturally my host was waiting for us. We were late, and everyone was waiting for us. The battery continued to die throughout the holidays, and finally in early January 2012, I brought ... Read More
In the government's new, more strenuous crash testing for 2011, the Versa earned an overall rating of two stars out of a possible five, with three stars for overall frontal crash protection and two stars for overall side crash protection.
Hi everyone, I am planning on going to see a local Nissan dealer in the Tampa Bay area. The quoted me for a Nissan Versa 1.6 S CVT (2012) for $13825. My parents paid $17,500 for 2011 Versa with $2000 down. They live in the Philadelphia area. I did a True Market Value price for the area Tampa Bay (where I live) and they said : $13404. I am a female ... Read More
ron 819, I thought I was going crazy. I just had my car towed yesterday for the same problem. This is a 2011 Versa purchased in December with only 7,200 miles. I was in city traffic going about 45 mph. I observed that each time I put on brakes, when I then tried to accelerate I had lost all power. I was able to coast to a parking lot. After putting ... yes it was around 12.5k + TTL, automatic 1.8s hatchback 2011 with power plus package. I got it from Falore Nissan in Sunnyvale.
I bought this car end of March 2011 and paid 14k OTD. Dealer was Falore Nissan, car is 1.8s hatchback, plus package automatic. This Saturday I again went to the same dealer with my friend who wants to buy the same Versa, dealership has changed and so are all the people who worked there when I had bought it. My friend couldn't get the same deal, the final price offered to ... Read More
I went to a dealership over the weekend to inquire the VPP price (plan A) for the 2011 Nissan Versa Hatchback 1.8s automatic with the power package. I was quoted 17K out the door. ($500 incentive if I were to finance with them). Why so high?
I just purchased a Brand new 2011 Nissan Versa Hatchback. I love the car but have been sorely disappointed in the gas mileage. I am only on my third tank and i have heard that mileage does improve but I am skeptical. The 1st dealer tank got me 25 mpg and the second which i did got me 24.5mpg. Simple math 300 miles, 12.4 gallons to fill up. I dont know ... Read More
Step one... deep breath. Sometimes it seems when you have one issue with a car, other things catch your eye or ear and you wonder, "Is this bad too?" Not saying that your car isn't hesitating, but it is possible that you're just noticing something that's been there all along. I've done that myself Now, back to your actual issues. Vibrating brake pedal DOES sound like warped rotors (NOBODY makes rotors ... Read More
i am looking to buy a 2011 Nissan Versa Hatch or sedan. I am in NY/NJ/PA area. Can anyone suggest a good dealer?
Hello Samiam9698, The above message appeared in my email. I sent a registered letter to Nissan Customer Service in Toronto, regarding my lemon and with that they had the Technical Service "Engineer" come to the dealership and he checked over the car. My dealership service manager kept telling me that Nissan was sending in their "US Technical Service Engineers", when I finally brought in the car it was a "Technical Service ... Read More
The news of the style chage for the Versa is not sitting well in my house (2 Versa hatchbacks) To quote my daughter... "If I want a Sentra, I'll buy a Sentra" I hope they've kept the leg room and head room we now enjoy, but it sure doesn't look like it. Check it out on InsideLine http://www.insideline.com/nissan/versa/2012/2012-nissan-versa-sedan-debuts-2011-- new-york-auto-show.html
I just bought a 2011 Versa and would like to carry my kayak. I can get new feet to retrofit my Thule system, but I was wondering wear fellow paddlers tie down the bow and stern of their kayaks to the car. My old Subaru Outback had nice big metal tie-down loops under the front and rear ends of the car; I didn't see anything like that under the Nissan. Thanks! ... Read More
Thanks so much! This forum really helped me to get an amazing deal for a 2011 hatchback with power package! I dealt with a few Nissan dealers in the PA/NJ area, and tried to get the best deal. I ended up with: $16,645 MSRP $13,299 OOD (including 8%). No money down and 0.9% Free lifetime Pa State Inspection Free 1 Year of Maintance
"How did you get it down so low?" I bought this car from a dealer more than 100 miles away so I dealt only with their internet sales dept by email. They gave me a firm itemized quote and even the VIN number of the car so I could look it up in their inventory through the internet. By the time I got up there the car was all prepped with ... 30mpg - That's the trouble with the mpg postings on this thread - are we comparing two different cars or two different driving styles? If I drove the same way your wife has to drive I may do no better in my Versa. Just got back yesterday from a round trip of 325 miles to Minneapolis and back - 33mpg. Put car into CC at 65mph (the speed limit) and just ... Read More
Nalley Nissan Decatur, GA 1.8S Hatchback, Auto Power Plus Pkg, Splash Guards, Aluminum Kickplates Sticker - 16,645 OTD - 13,432.21 all inclusive @ 7% No other Nissan dealer in Atlanta came close. Hopefully nothing goes wrong with it, I think they're struggling to compete with all the new cars coming out like the focus, fit, etc. Dan
I've had my 2011 Versa a little over two months. Overall, I'm very, very pleased with the car. but there are some aspects of the car I find suprisingly down market....And I do realize it isn't a very expensive. The remote entry....It's so easy to sound the alarm...The buttons aren't recessed enough. And the ignition key entry...It is completely flat, and is very hard to fit the key in when it's ... Just to let you know- a 2011 Nissan Versa S 5-door with 6-speed manual and the Power Plus Pkg (power windows & locks, cruise control, keyless entry, door pockets and padded door armrests) stickers for $15,250 but TrueCar.com is showing it for $11,995 after the $2k rebate. It's a much better looking and driving vehicle than the Yaris. Worth a look if you haven't considered it already!
I bought a 2011 Versa SL Hatchback last week. I will be performing my own oil changes. I've yet to explore the underbelly - if I had, maybe I might not be asking this question. Is there is good/safe lift point for a floorjack at the front end? If yes - where? Or, am I relegated to lifting from the side with a scissor-type jack? The dealer recommended oil filter # ...
