One simple but valuable habit to have with any vehicle is to check engine oil and all fluid levels every time you stop for gas. Many people never look under the hood as they believe it's done by service station then when things happen they cannot give statistics on service neither have an idea if burning oil has been a problem and for how long.

Written by: sweetsong on Oct 15, 2012 4:38:14 PM

My Versa is 15 months old and has 39,000 highway miles on it. It just stopped on me one day about 4 months ago. I checked the oil, which was low,put oil in it and it started back up. I took to to the dealer for an oil change and they said everything was good. About a month ago it starts feeling sluggish and stalling. I assumed it needed more oil ... Read More

On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2011, my car would not start as it was - 15 degrees. The service man came, and gave me a boost, told me to run the car for 1 hour before turning it off. Naturally my host was waiting for us. We were late, and everyone was waiting for us. The battery continued to die throughout the holidays, and finally in early January 2012, I brought ... Read More

Hi everyone, I am planning on going to see a local Nissan dealer in the Tampa Bay area. The quoted me for a Nissan Versa 1.6 S CVT (2012) for $13825. My parents paid $17,500 for 2011 Versa with $2000 down. They live in the Philadelphia area. I did a True Market Value price for the area Tampa Bay (where I live) and they said : $13404. ron 819, I thought I was going crazy. I just had my car towed yesterday for the same problem. This is a 2011 Versa purchased in December with only 7,200 miles. I was in city traffic going about 45 mph. I observed that each time I put on brakes, when I then tried to accelerate I had lost all power. I was able to coast to a parking lot. After putting ... I just purchased a Brand new 2011 Nissan Versa Hatchback. I love the car but have been sorely disappointed in the gas mileage. I am only on my third tank and i have heard that mileage does improve but I am skeptical. The 1st dealer tank got me 25 mpg and the second which i did got me 24.5mpg. Simple math 300 miles, 12.4 gallons to fill up. I dont know ... Read More

Step one... deep breath. Sometimes it seems when you have one issue with a car, other things catch your eye or ear and you wonder, "Is this bad too?" Not saying that your car isn't hesitating, but it is possible that you're just noticing something that's been there all along. I've done that myself Now, back to your actual issues. The news of the style chage for the Versa is not sitting well in my house (2 Versa hatchbacks) To quote my daughter... "If I want a Sentra, I'll buy a Sentra" I hope they've kept the leg room and head room we now enjoy, but it sure doesn't look like it. • Tie down kayak on Versa hatchback

I just bought a 2011 Versa and would like to carry my kayak. I can get new feet to retrofit my Thule system, but I was wondering wear fellow paddlers tie down the bow and stern of their kayaks to the car. My old Subaru Outback had nice big metal tie-down loops under the front and rear ends of the car; I didn't see anything like that under the Nissan. Thanks! ... Read More

I've had my 2011 Versa a little over two months. Overall, I'm very, very pleased with the car. but there are some aspects of the car I find suprisingly down market....And I do realize it isn't a very expensive. The remote entry....It's so easy to sound the alarm...The buttons aren't recessed enough. And the ignition key entry...It is completely flat, and is very hard to fit the key in when it's ... Is there is good/safe lift point for a floorjack at the front end? If yes - where? Or, am I relegated to lifting from the side with a scissor-type jack? The dealer recommended oil filter # ...
