Thanks so much for your helpful post here. Our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee had the same issues. Dealing with the dealer has been a huge pain, as they wouldn't do their job and charged us huge money. After sending the emails to CEO, our problem got fixed right away. Now we are going to get reimbursement for the money the dealer shouldn't have charged at the very beginning, plus the car ... Hi there. My question is why did they agree to pay to fix it? I own same year and model has you with the miles with no warranty. Of course a warranty doesn't do any good without a part. I have been on the phone with Jeep since August 23rd. They are so irritating. They don't want to fix the problem. They want to half way take blame but then not ... Read More
So my question is "When does the class action lawsuit start?" 2011 jeep grand Cherokee has needed a TIPM since. August 23, 2013. Said it would have been her yesterday guess what, no part. A jeep customer service is not helping. They are "sorry" and "I understand" and "I know it is not easy to be with out a vehicle" and then all the things they could have done for me ... Read More
I'm not sure if this has been posted or not. I found this article while researching the issue I've been having. This tells you what wire to test that controls power to the fuel pump. http://www.justanswer.com/jeep/7nqzx-2011-grand-cherokee-limited-intermittent-st- arting.html
Everyone having issues with TIPM causing starting, stalling and electrical problems, and there are lots of us....we need to innundate Jeep with emails, calls and hopefully get a class action suit going as they need to do the right thing and issue a recall on this problem. The facts as I understand them are this is becoming a larger and more pervasive problem as the vehicles get older. My 2011 Grand ... Read More
My suggestion to those that are stranded or do not have a warranty, is to buy your own brand new TIPM directly from the same place that Chrysler gets them. See the link below. This is exactly the same product that you are waiting for, but you will have to pay for it on your own and I doubt you will be reimbursed, even if there is a recall in the ... Read More
Dropped off my Jeep yesterday to get the same news from the dealer. They are telling me that they are not offering any financial assistance on the parts/labor or any loaner/rental program. They only told me if this does go to a full recall I would be reimburse... Who were you able to speak to to give you a hand with it all? Thanks!
I can't believe Chrysler is letting so many people have to deal with this stress and not doing the right thing and RECALLING these vehicles with so many have the same issues. I bought my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee less then a year ago and was so thrilled as I just love this model jeep and had a 2004 Laredo before this but it had alot of miles and died on ... Read More
SIMPLE FIX to the TIPM issue with comments: I Love JEEP and all American built cars and believe that our economy would be in a greater position if most of us invested in American built items. Well I got some sort of victory today. I spoke with Chrysler case manager who has been trying to get with the dealer to get more information in order to proceed. I explained to ... Read More
Dealer says they won't order until I pay for the part. If it's not under warranty it has to be paid UPFRONT! I almost lost it!!! Finally spoke to Chrysler case manager...nothing yet. They said they called the dealer twice for info but never got a call back. And on we go.....
Just got my 2011 grand cherokee overland back from service after waiting 50 days to get a warraunteed TIPM module in. Chrysler is "DECIDING" whether to give me any compensation to pay my lease , insurance and garage payments which will total over 2900.00 $. They were able to give me a rental for half of the time in the shop but it was a crappy compass. Will keep you apprised ... Read More
You guys are exactly right, they don't care and can't fix it. That's why we need a lawsuit with teeth. I don't care if they go bankrupt again and the government has to bail them out. This is such bullshit. ... Read More

I would be very suspicious of your "new TIPM". Are you certain that your dealer did not just install one of the faulty TIPMs? I've been without my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee since July 12th. I'm being told that there are over 25,000 TIPMs on backorder. Supposedly the company that makes the TIPM (it is not Chrysler that makes it) is going bankrupt and Chrysler does not own the rights to manufacture the part. It's such a shame. Such a fabulous car up until this point and now I'm just disgusted with it!
Did you find out yet that it is your TIPM and you won't get the new part till mid to end of September if your lucky?

Sounds like Jeep or the NHSTA needs to do a recall of Jeep transmissions. We only have 50,000 miles on our 2007 JGC, and we are being asked to pay almost $3,000 for various repairs, including a new transmission. We'll just park it before we pay that much!
My Overland is AWD. The new Goodyear's are terrific, this is clearly what Jeep should have started with, instead of making me cough up the $1k.
Do you have 4 X 4 or AWD? I have Forteras (17s) on my '11 JGC. It says 4 X 4 on the back but is essentially AWD. I'm in Texas and we don't get too much of the nasty stuff. On my last visit to the dealer which was Chrysler's last attempt to fix it, I had the Service Manager at my dealer drive it. Unfortunately there is nothing to fix. Jeep has set up the shift pattern on the JGC to up-shift as fast as possible to try and get a reasonable mileage rating. Because the engine gets most of its torque at high rpms the engine cannot handle the low speed ... Read More
