- What We Know
- The 2009 Audi A4 is yet another evolutionary design change on the outside while the internal structure is borrowed from the A5/S5 coupes. The big benefit derived from the new chassis is the repositioning of the engine directly above the front axle. Current models hang the engine forward of the axle which creates handling and steering problems. The engines themselves won't change much as the next generation A4 will use the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder on base models and a 3.2-liter V6 for top-of-the-line versions. The overall dimensions have increased slightly as the A4 has received consistent criticism about its lack of rear passenger space.
- What Edmunds.com says
- Yet another evolution of the A4 should keep Audi in the hunt for entry level sport sedan buyers.
