So far it's mostly good. VW service is not.

2019 VW Atlas I've heard the same Torque Converter noise others are complaining about and the dealership cannot reproduce it and won't spend time to really look into it. This vehicle also feels weird when accelerating - the engines revs really high before it starts to move from a stop. They also couldn't replicate that and stated the acceleration is normal for these vehicles. They just seemed to hurry up and get me out of there instead of taking the time to diagnose the issue. Other than those glaring issues...this car has a great sound system, touch screen, comfortable seats, spacious, third row and second row fold down so there is lots of room to haul stuff, it can tow 5000lbs so it works great for towing U-Boxes from U-Haul, and it accelerates well on the highway (and sounds like a race car when doing so). Overall this car is amazing when you remove the issues stated in my first paragraph. I would recommend this car but I'm only 10,000 miles into this car and I'm dreading having to see any service lights on the dash and have to take it to the dealer for repair. Guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope that doesn't happen.

Great road tripper

We purchased a used 2019 SEL Premium and have owned it for about 10k miles. I have a unique perspective because we traded in our 2021 Kia Telluride to buy our Atlas. About a year ago, I did tons of research and settled on the Telluride which is the favorite for all the car magazines. We got a white SX brand new and we loved it a lot. It was a fantastic vehicle. Peppy engine, good looks, well-thought out interior. But, after a year and 12k miles, because of the demand for Tellys, we ended up selling it for $10k more than we purchased it new. It seemed like too good of a deal to pass up. We found a 2019 Atlas SEL premium CPO and used the positive equity from the Telluride to greatly reduce our monthly payment. We were sad to see the Telluride leave, but we have grown to love the Atlas. The engine is not as peppy as the Telluride, and many complain about the acceleration with the V6, but I’ve found it surprisingly capable. Accelerating on on ramps is easy and it holds high speeds (80 mph) on the freeway with ease. It’s quieter on the highway than the telluride and feels so smooth. It’s much roomier than the telluride as well. The infotainment isn’t quite as nice as the telluride, but the Atlas is easier to use and the digital display on our SEL premium is nicer than the analog gauges on the Telluride. We average about 18-20 in mixed driving. With the telluride, we were probably about 19-21. So, for a bigger car, it’s not much different. We also like the styling quite a bit with our optional rims that came with it. Overall, we probably liked the Kia Telluride a tiny bit more, but it is very close and the Atlas can be purchased much cheaper than a Telly and it’s actually better on long road trips. So smooth on the interstate and tons of room. We love our Atlas.

I was surprised how roomy this car is. I'm 6'3, 350lbs and have plenty of room. I can actually sit comfortably in the second row with the front seat all the way back. This car has a smooth, quiet ride and plenty of power when needed. Averaging 22mpg in mixed city/hwy driving. SE mid trim level is nice. live in the south so didn't need AWD. impressed so far.
