I spent several months researching the minivans (and some SUVs) and I test-drove almost all usual suspects. I got a Sienna SE and I could not be happier. Well, with I could be, if the Sienna had Android Auto...
The Odyssey has the best handling and driving dynamics, no contest. The Pacifica is a good compromise of comfort and handling. The Sienna has a softer suspension and it is a bit … slow at start (compared to the V6 cars I owned in the past). The ride is very comfortable though, road noise is low, and the whole experience is a pleasure. I did not expect that I will like this, I have always owned cars with strong engines and good handling.
The whole point of buying a van for me was the space. This is where the Sienna wins by a lot. The medium seats on the Pacifica are too low, you feel like sitting on the floor. This is due to their ability to be stowed under the floor. Well, that means that the floor is raised and you lose legroom. The Odyssey seats cannot slide back and are uncomfortable as well. The Sienna is the only van I tried or researched which has middle seats comfortable for teens.
The Sienna security systems make sense and are not obtrusive. No cylinder deactivation (Honda), no annoying shutdown at stops.
I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the stock radio. Most cars have awful audio systems, not this one.
I dislike leather, and the cloth is of good quality. Not great but much better than what I saw elsewhere. Not as good as the older cars though.
I have had it for less than 6 months so far, too early to talk about reliability. No problems for now.
