Worst vehicle I ever purchased. Always being repaired by Toyota. Sun-roof leaks constantly. Under heavy rain it'll ruin everything inside. It molds stinks then I gotta have interior cleaned which sometimes means they have to take the seats out to clean the carpet. The center console fills full of water ruining everything inside. The power sliding doors are always tearing up, an unessary … feature in my book; When they do, somebody is stuck inside and they'll have to crawl out. I mean, how lazy are we.The fobs are alway coming out of sinc with the van a a Toyota person has to come out with new fobs and re-program them. A huge inconvenience especially when I'm away from home or a Toyota dealership is an hour or two away from where I am and the doors wont unlock or the van doesn't start because it doesnt reconize the fob. Something underneath it always pops when you drive it. Worry some. Toyota doesnt know what it is. The front seats are crammed too tight against the center console. If something falls down there, it's really hard to get it out plus it gets nasty down there and you cant get your hand down there to clean it. You have to have the seats removed just to clean out down there. Toyota doesnt warrenty that and they have to clean it as not to void the warranty, and its insanely expensive. My hand won't fit under the seats to clean under them. Can't even fit a vacuum attachment under them to clean under there and it gets nasty.
Lastly, the other day, I went to a gas station to buy a gallon of milk and when I was driving home the milk fell over in the seat and the lid popped off spilling about a quart of milk out before I could catch it. No Toyotas fault but cleaning the milk out is darned near impossible since I cant fit my hand under the seat or between the seats and the console. Now its soured and it smells awful. Cant wait for it to mold. The milk has shorted out the power seats and apparently dried in the seat belt buckle and now it wont unlock. Again, not Toyotas fault, but if they just made this dumb thing smarter at least I could clean it out. Now Toyota wants to remove the seats to clean it up. Repair the power seat. Replace the stuck seatbelt buckle and remove the carpet just to get the smell out. And of course something like that isnt warrented and is insanely expensive. Not a kid friendly van because the only thing you can get to, to clean is the floorboards. If snacks get dropped between the seats or if a juice box gets spilled its there to stay because you cant get to it to clean it out.
I absolutely hate this car. The worst, most expensive and regrettable purchase I ever made. I always believed Toyota stood for quality and great engineering. Not after this mistake. I switched from Dodge Caryvans to this and I regreat it everyday. I wish something would total this thing to get me out from under it.
I worked in manufacturing for a long, long time. I know all about lean manufacturing and kanbon and kaizan. Toyota pioneered it and now its taking over manufacturing by storm. Its all about cutting corners and maximizing profets.Thats why everything we buy now it expensive and junk.
