2021 Tesla Model 3
I have driven and owned many vehicles over the last 70 years. These include a number of sports cars and pickup trucks. Now at 86 years, my wife and I own and drive a Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD.
It is by far the most enjoyable vehicle that I have ever owned or driven. At our age, gas stations are not the favorite places to visit. Now we plug in every evening, charge the battery at the … cheapest rate between 12:00 am and 5:00 am, and are ready to go the next morning.
The process of purchasing a new 2021 Model 3 from Tesla was extremely simple and stress-free, and unlike any other vehicle that I have ever purchased. The car was delivered in perfect condition six weeks after it was ordered. All panel fits were tight. The multicoat red paint was perfect. The interior as well as the rear and front trunks were extremely well done with no misfits in the upholstery. Road noise, a major complaint for this model, is not severe and is at an acceptable level. Road noise is not any worse than other cars that I have driven. The lack of engine noise makes road noise more noticeable This is one thing that could be improved for more enjoyable highway driving.
It took me about a day to get used to single-pedal driving and using the central touch screen. We have had the Tesla for 19 months and by my calculations, the 82-kWh Lithium-Ion battery has degraded in those 19 months by about 2%. The maximum battery capacity is now approximately 80-kWh for a maximum range of 346 miles as opposed to the Tesla specified maximum new car range of 353 miles.
The Tesla 2021 Model 3 AWD is a great car and periodic upgrades to software continue to improve driving pleasure and safety. To date, the Model 3 has been absolutely maintenance-free. We could not be more pleased with our decision to buy a Tesla Model 3.
