I've now had my Hybrid EX-L for 3 years now, I'm at 87,890 miles and I must say that driving this vehicle has definitely changed my formally aggressive driving; acceleration and braking.
I average upper 600’s to mid 700's year around.
Are there minor tweaks I would prefer that this vehicle have, sure but nothing major.
Is this a muscle car? No. Is this an ugly … Prius? Hell no!!! The comfort and fuel saving advantages outweigh almost any other car on the road.
A word of caution if you do not drive a lot the premium cost of this car will not balance out within a couple of years, shop with this in mind.
As so far I’ve only had to replace the car battery @ 60k miles, and Tires @77k miles. *Make sure when replacing the tires that you use the exact same tires or you will end up with slightly lower MPG, anywhere from 30-50 miles less per Full tank of gas. On a side note, I had my car serviced @ 87k miles and I still had 80% brake pad life left, I was completely mind blown!!!!
I’ve owed this car for 4 years now, and it’s at 120,000 miles of smooth sailing. I’ve replaced the car battery once and a set of tires once.
I’ve saved over $20k during the past 4 years in fuel costs and services that I would have had to pay in my previous car and have applied that money towards paying my car off and have owned it straight out since 9/1/18.
Is has now made its was into the hands of my daughter who recently drove it 1100 miles away without any issues other than air in the tires and 2 fill-ups.
8/11/21 My Honda now has 130,000 miles on it and is back from Seattle. On the way back down the transmission went out which also affected the Hybrid battery pack and 12v battery. My mechanic was able to get both the transmission and battery pack off of a couple used cars; $4k later and it’s back on the road and I’m still getting 50+ mpg!!
2/12/23 Rosie, as we call her is still chugging along at 150k miles. She has a couple of transmission hiccups on occasion; lights come on transmission error, LDW, FCW lights flash. I took her to Honda, they want $15k to swap out a new transmission!!! I’m just going to keep driving her until she dies out.
I’m still getting 750 miles per full tank; roughly 47 mpg. My plan was to keep her for another 10 years but I suspect that isn’t going to happen.
This Hybrid accord has been a work horse, for most this would have probably been their last car. She served her purpose and will always be my Rosie. I only wish she had Carplay
