2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport
Bought it on impulse, never again. Had 34k miles on it when purchased. Within 6 months had to replace the rear axle boots (than god for extended warranty). It's overall been a decent car. 4 years into it, shift button broke. I have had it 8 years, 160k on it. Apparently it should have died 80k ago according to my mechanic. 2 years ago it started throwing codes. The ignition would lock … up, literally, lock my key in it and unlock the car and not start for 20 minutes then decide to start. Dealership could not figure out why or what was wrong, had it 6 weeks and they couldn't figure it out. I plug in a code reader, cylinder 2 misfire. Smells like rotten eggs. Catalytic converter? They said no it could be a sensor but it's not throwing codes. CYLINDER TWO MISFIRE........ROTTEN EGG SMELL.........but nothing is wrong. I now cannot drive at night because my car is a literal disco show as my lights flash and the car idles hard. Service traction control, service stabilitrak both come on. Check engine light comes om, sometimes flashes. Mechanic said it's a valve but won't repair because there's no aftermarket motor available, so he doesn't want to take a chance. Oh, battery needs replaced every 2 years on the spot to the day. I did just replace brakes for the first time since buying this car. Switched all brake lights, reverse lights and blinkers to led lights as they kept blowing out every other day.
