2025 Toyota Tundra Consumer Reviews

Third Tundra Owned in 14 years
2 previous Tundra were the V8's. 2025 Tundra 4x4 SR5 short bed Crew Max V6 twin turbo. First impression and still not favorable is the short 5'5" short bed vs the former short bed 6' 5". The new V6 twin turbo has worse gas mileage than previous 2 V8's. The V6 is a bit quicker but top end is the same. Gone are the steel hood and steel door panels. Now hood and door panels are Aluminum. At speed the driver notices the hood flexing and buckling. I hope the door has a strong support structure under the aluminum sheet ... My previous 2018 Tundra survived a high-speed crash resulting in a 270-degree spin followed by a 450-degree rollover resulted in a total loss. But, I was safe within the steel cabin as seatbelt and airbags performed well. Crash not my fault. Hope this model endures as well as my past 2 have.

Loving It!!
Nothing I dislike about the truck. Absolutely fun to drive. No problems so far that I’ve seen mentioned in other reviews.

Let’s be honest, it is really an amazing truck
I am not living in denial on the wiggly plastic trims or the window seals or the wobbly massif plastic grill. With all these aside, there are only two things fundamentally bothered me on my 2024 SR5 TRD Sport, one is turning radius (the new Taco also has reduced turning radius, why??!?), two is the engine. Now, my truck rode and accelerates and decelerates like a dream. I have owned more than 23 vehicles in a span of 13 years, I’ve owned pretty much all full size pick up (multiple F150, two RAM). I had a LX570, GX460, 5th gen 4Runner, 2021 Tacoma. The new Tundra rides like the LX570 (or Mercedes Wagon). You feel the size of the truck and need to make multiple turns but if the twin turbo engine eventually got proven to be long-lasting (I believe it will since some failure were had at over 100k miles with no issues), then I will buy it again down the road. Or the GX550.

Great but not perfect
PRO: Power, Ride, Drive Great, Great Looks, Updated Tech CON: Beeps during fast cornering, Turning Radius is Ridiculous, Can use more storage space especially with the Hybrid model, Lacking trick tailgate
