Regret my purchase!

Tjhe purchase of the 2018 Tundra Limited was a big mistake, not enought room to write all the problems. The pedestrian sensors were too sensitive, came on for no reason numerous times. Toyota removed the driver's access handles, all trucks have some sort of access handle, I am disabled this was a problem and could not be corrected with modifications. Navagtion was not accurate, had the latest update installed by Toyota, missed an appointment because it took me to another area 8 miles away. Cruise control would just turn off with no other traffic in the area. Seat comfort is not close the the seat comfort of the 2013 Tundra. Lost 7K when I traded for a 2013 Tundra. I woud recommend looking at 2013 Tundra, best truck I have ever owned. I have owned four tundras.

Not as good as my 2006 Tundra Access Cab

The headliner in my 2018 Tundra 4WD DC looks ragged and unfinished where it meets the rear window frame. I examined a number of other brand new 2018 Toyota Tundras on the lot and they ALL look unfinished and raggedy, except for the Limited, Platinum, and 1794 editions with power rear windows. The engine (5.7L) is VERY noisy during cold startup, it almost sounds like a darn diesel, with knocking noises which gradually diminish as the engine warms up, but never go completely away. My 4.7L in the 2006 Tundra NEVER made any noises like this 5.7L does. It's very disconcerting, to say the least. Toyota recommends 0W-20 in the 5.7L, but I'll be changing it out here shortly when I reach 2,000 miles to Shell Rotella T 5W-40 synthetic, the same oil I've been using in my 2006 Tundra since it was new. In retrospect, I may have made a mistake purchasing this new Tundra, but I'll give it a chance. Maybe things will work out. I'm just used to having better quality, fit, and finish. Even my 1984 Toyota truck, as bare bones as it was, still had a better finished headliner than my 2018 does.

This is my first Tundra and after 45,000 miles, below are my list of pros and cons; Pros-Great Looking, Awesome power, nimble to drive, comfortable drivers seat, huge back seat area for the kids and cargo, rows my 8,000 lb 35’ travel trailer extremely well, good side mirrors for daily driving, great off-road and in the snow, awesome LED headlights, seems to be well built. Cons-poor fuel economy (15.8-16.2 average for semi rural driving in Southern Maryland), extended mirrors would be a good option for towing, the 5.5’ bed is small on the crew max, a 6.5’ bed would be ideal but is only available on the double cab, the SR5 Off-road package I have only has electric seat adjustments on the drivers side, this should be available on the passenger side as well on this model at the price range without having to go up to the Limited model, slightly noisy cab compared to my previous GMC but not loud by any means. All in all, I love my Tundra. But like any truck, there is always room for improvement. Regardless, I am very happy with it and am confident it will last 300,000 miles which is why I purchased it over the other brands.

Shop around before buying a Tundra

I have a 2018 Tundra Limited. The Limited is an SR5 with few upgrades, not really a step up. Slipped on the running boards when they were wet, oh that hurt. Toyota does not tell the consumer that the new technology needs to be updated by the dealer, but no warning as to when the update is needed. Navigation sucks, have to use a Garmin which is much more accurate. All trucks have a handle to assist getting into the drivers side of the truck except Tundra. I have owned 12 new Toyota vehicles, I will shop around before I buy another Tundra. The 2018 Tundra Limited is not equal to my 2007 Tundra Limited Tundra Limited. took the truck to the dealer several times, the cannot get the navigation or blue tooth to work better than marginal. SHOP AROUND BEFORE PURCHASING.
