Used 2023 Toyota Tacoma Consumer Reviews
Great truck after modifications
The electric driver's seat is a nice improvement. The appearance of the heater controls needs to be improved. The road noise is much improved from 2019. There is a horrible throttle lag and the transmission shifts up and down constantly. The transmission problems can be fixed with an aftermarket tune from KD Max or others to drive like it should from the factory. Difficult to get the stated mileage without a tune also.

Overhyped Uncomfortable Truck
Toyota warranty means nothing. The mechanical quality is bad and Toyota does not care. I will go back to my good old F series. Stay away from Toyota.

Not Happy
Things I Hate About It -Weak engine; V6 (278 HP) -Transmission always gear hunting -Bad MPG; 16 to 20 -Steering is not sensitive -Ride is stiff and uncomfortable -Seats are too firm and power setting has no memory -Displays are not well coordinated (font and font size and color don’t match) -Apple CarPlay is not wireless -Difficult to enter and exit -Awkward radio mute -Rear passenger doors centrally lock, but don’t centrally unlock -Brake pedal too small—can’t use left foot -Annoying steering wheel nubs -No gas cap hanger on fuel cover -Rear seat legroom— none -Cruise control switch awkward to setup

Rattletrap. Hopefully still reliable.
1st of all, the Toyota "remote start" should really be called a "local kill" because you ALWAYS NEED TO START THE VEHICAL AGAIN BEFORE YOU CAN DRIVE IT. WTF? 2nd it is noise box. It doesn't vibrate & lurch like my 2018 Colorado, but it's WAY more noisy. The passenger seat constantly rattles LOUDLY with even minor road bumps. Toyota has been no help. Driving through snow &/or puddles of water creates loud, ringing metalic noises as though the water/snow is reaching the sheet metal up in the walls of the box. Walked into my garage 6 hours after parking the truck & there was a high, whining sound like the gas tank fuel pump was running on high. Started the truck, then turned it off, & the sound stopped. I hope Toyota is still as reliable as it's reputation...
Tough Little Truck
I've been interested in the Tacoma for several years during which I drove F-150s. I'm impressed with how the Tacoma drives, its many features and it apparent tough construction. It is a two door short bed which meets my needs fine at this point.
