Regular Cab 4 cyl manual
I am 6'4". I fit in the truck just fine, the problem is little room for my size 14 shoes, the toes hit the bottom of the dash. The telescoping steering wheel needs to come another 2-3" farther away from the dash. As is, with the seat all the way back, my arms at 10&4 are nearly straight, not that comfortable. In 5th gear, the stick knob is in the way of the temperature control. The gears are vague with the need to double clutch to get it into first at times. Otherwise, I am happy with the truck. There is plenty of power with the benefit of good gas mileage. Bed is great but cargo will skate around on slick surface. I'm hoping the frame won't rust in ten years.
2005 Tacoma 2dr , 4cyl, access cab,
Very dependable. Have no complaints, only wished it would get better gas mileage. It seems to be very durable. No part failures or recalls on this one. All small trucks should have 16" wheels and leather seats. Tacoma 2dr 4 cyl. Does not. My concern at the present is, a vibration coming from the drive shaft, under acceleration. If a person wants or needs a small truck, this is the one.

A Better Tacoma
I had a 1999 Tacoma and the 2005 is a much nicer truck in every respect. I am very happy with it so far. It has more power, more room, and a much nicer interior than the '99. The ride is very car like and the handling is very good. I got 24 mpg on the first tank of gas. The transmission shifts very smoothly and the brakes are strong. The composite box and movable tie down anchors are a very well done.
Great Truck
This is my third truck. Had an old Tacoma that just wouldn't die, ran it 200k+ miles and hope this one lasts as long. Had a Dakota with a V8 but this one has much more power and more comfortable ride, even with the TRD pkg. Much better gas mileage then Dakota too, first tank gave me 20 mpg. Love my '05 Tacoma, highly recommend.
A great mid-size
Comfortable, handles great, and tows the 20' boat without a bobble. Mileage so far runs about 18 around town and 20+ on highway, and it does it on regular gas. No problems with knocking or missing using the lower octane, although the manual says for optimum performance use hi-test. The 5-spd auto shifts smoothly and quickly. The performance of the V6 is outstanding, if just a bit noisy. Motor Trend gave it their Truck Of The Year Award, and it's well deserved.
