Great family vehicle... except in snow
I've had my 2011 Sienna Limited for over nine years now. It is a fabulous vehicle for hauling kids, their friends, their bags, the dog(s), etc. My husband frequently puts the back seats down and hauls stuff for the house from Lowe's or the garden center. This is our second (and last) minivan, as our youngest is 19. My two issues with the van are the low clearance when there is a lot of snow. I use snow tires every year, and with the traction control, I am able to do okay in the snow, but not great. My previous sienna (I think it was a 2001) had a much better clearance in heavy snow. My second issue is the blind spot in freeway driving. It is SUBSTANTIAL on this vehicle. I am very used to it now, but my first few months driving were a little hectic. I'm looking forward to getting something with the nice side passing camera. But overall this is a fabulous vehicle for a family, ESPECIALLY if you live in a climate where you don't get as much snow as we do here in the north.

Sienna SE is pretty good, but could be better
we choose the Sienna based on build quality (I work for a Toyota supplier). The reliability seems to be there, but Toyota went cheap on a couple of things. The interior plastics belong on a lowly Kia, they are hard to the touch and I'm guessing will be prone to sqeaking in due time. The sliding doors stick frequently. The van is fun to drive, for a van, the steering is precise and the handling on the SE is probably the most fun of all minivans. The looks are pretty aggressive and hats off to Toyota for putting 19" rims on it, giving the van a sporty stance. Swagger wagon marketing is valid on the SE.

2011 Sienna - Recall Imminent
We have owned this car for less than two weeks. After 10 days, the rear trunk door stopped working. We took it to our local dealership body shop at were told the hinge had a problem, like the Highlander in recent times. They tried to fix it, didn't work. Now we find out the tailgate is bent at the top, so the entire rear trunk door needs to be replaced. At the same body shop, an identical 2011 Sienna (1 week old this time) was parked for the identical same problem. Their door was also bent at the exact same spot as ours and refused to work. The steering has been giving me creaking noises since day 1. Other 2011 Toyota owners have also had same problems w/passengers doors within 1 week
Dissapointment
I am not mechanical at all .So this review is driver experience only .After driving 37,000kms and a year in ,the 2011 Sienna is uncomfortable in the drivers seat .Cheap seats. The design of the tracks that the middle row runs on, is horrible and the seats are so heavy to remove .I am 6ft and 190 lbs 40 yrs old and find it hard to remove the middle row .When you remove the middle row and fold the rear seats becareful not to damage the rails when you put your cargo in . The exterior paint is soft and the windshield is rough when the wipers pass over it on a showery day .Looks good on the outside .Lots of cargo area . The eight passenger will not be happy.Drives nicely and pick up is good
Toyota is slipping; NOT worth $45k
We purchased the 2011 Limited AWD with the "premium" package in April. First impressions were that it was pleasant/ unoffensive, about what you'd expect from a minivan. The transmission is surprisingly quick to downshift for passing and shifts smoothly. However, the cheap materials, especially the fake wood (which they should get rid of and stop pretending it's fancy!) and the shoddy stitching on the leather, are very disappointing. I recommend getting the LE and save $20k to upgrade your kitchen or buy a Miata. When I got a tire replacement (see below), a lug nut was cross-threaded and ripped the bolt off. I have not had a major problem like some, but these are a sign of poor quality!
