Used 2020 Toyota RAV4 Consumer Reviews
Beautiful car but!
The stop and start feature has an issue definitely after you stop at a red light, the engine shuts off then when it powers on it jerks which does not feel good.

Not the good value you think it is
Before I get started, let me say my family has been lifelong Toyota owners. The first vehicles I drove were a 91 Previa minivan and 95 4Runner Limited. I drove an MR2 Turbo until I wrecked it. I have a Mazda3 as my beater, but have a 2016 Tacoma for my daily driver. The Tacoma is far from fully loaded, but I love it and I feel it has great craftsmanship. I decided its time to simplify and trade in both for a crossover. Of course, the RAV4 was on my list to test drive. I have no need for AWD but I wanted all the bells and whistles, so I went for a Limited FWD. First impressions were cheap cheap cheap. The synthetic leatherette looks like plastic. The plastic wheel wells are tacky. The fit and finish were not even up to par with the 95 4Runner Limited I drove 13 years ago. On top of that, the passenger seat isn't even power adjustable. But it meets all the practical needs I was looking for so I take it for a spin. The road noise was terrible and the drive underwhelming. I expected it to be underpowered based on specs, but actual driving left me even more disappointed. I had the money to spend up to 40k, so I decided to give the BMW X1 with a premium package a go knowing I would have to negotiate it down. The experience was night and day. If you can shell out 5k extra and can sacrifice a little second row seating space, that is the way to go. Needless to say, I purchased the X1 for the very reasonable price of 38.5k. Not to mention, the treatment you receive at a luxury dealership is exceptional. The annoyed newbies at a standard dealership only added to the turn off. To sum up. If you are gonna go baseline because you have a low end budget and need to shuffle people and stuff from A to B, this vehicle is probably fine. But if you are going high end, you are wasting your money. The best way to describe this vehicle is "polished turd."

bought a new rav 4 2020 haven't even made the first payment yet, and its broke down, 12 days now the dealership still has the car and no answers for me which is why I'm talking to a lawyer
Stylish XLE
Good: style, fuel economy good use of interior space and plenty of USB ports Bad: the engine stops at stop lights (fuel economy) and needs to be reset every time you restart engine, engine is sluggish infotainment system is not user friendly w limited aps warranty on CPO overlaps existing warranty (does not extend existing) The ride is truck-like
Pleasantly Surprised
I was downsizing and coming from a Honda Pilot, I was a little nervous about going to a smaller SUV. I went to the dealership to test drive a used CRV and a RAV4 and fell in love with my RAV4! I have driven it 5k miles so far and I’m consistently getting 31-33 mpg. The lower geared transmission has taken sometime getting used to it but I’ve adjusted my driving habits and it’s getting better. Features I really enjoy is Apple Car play, 4 automatic windows, Sport mode, GAS MILEAGE, and the smooth riding on the interstate. I’ve been really surprised with this vehicle. We originally bought it to give to my daughter after about a year but I’m thinking about buying second one for her!
