New styling, New Prius!

2023 Toyota Prius LE 4dr Hatchback (2.0L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)

This is the LE base model, and it has everything you need for gas sipping luxury. Full safety suite, beautiful styling, and excellent fuel mileage, better than any other version. Yeah, no spare tire, but....unless you get a blowout, the kit will work just fine.

2023 Toyota Prius Limited 4dr Hatchback (2.0L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)

I’ve owned every Prius (Prime, C, V, regular), but this new one is my favorite, particularly because of the styling. I had been on a waiting list for 8 months at one dealership, but then I stumbled upon a 2023 black Prius Limited that had just arrived at a nearby dealer. And it was available with no price mark-up! That’s a rare situation these days. So, I grabbed it. It’s rated 52 mpg. I’m easily getting 60+ around town as long as the trip is three miles or more so the hybrid system can warm up. Our highway trip from the dealership delivered 55 mpg. The ride is smooth with minimal road noise. The front seats are very comfortable. My petite wife and daughter are fine with the back seat, but it's cramped for me even though I’m a slender 5’10". My head touches the roof if I sit upright. Back leg room is only good for me if the front seat is moved far forward. Cargo space is not great, but it was not a deal-breaker for us. The car sits VERY low, so getting in and out might be a challenge for some people. Controls are very intuitive, and I like that Toyota is returning to buttons/knobs for things like climate control. (I hated the climate control screen in our Prius V.) The upgraded JBL sound system is the best car audio I’ve ever had. Also, Toyota has decided it’s not dangerous for drivers to see album artwork for music! Our 2022 RAV4 Prime only shows artwork from my flash drive when the vehicle is stopped. (Seriously?) In just three weeks, I’ve had numerous people comment on the looks of the car, even comments from strangers in parking lots. It definitely catches the eye. The design is very sleek and stylish. Our previous Prius models gave us zero problems, so we are expecting the same great Toyota reliability with this Prius as well.

An Engineering Marvel! Best Car that I Ever Owned!

2024 Toyota Prius LE 4dr Hatchback (2.0L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)

We waited 13 months to get our new Prius, but it was way worth it because we paid @ MSRP. Owned it for a month now and we truly love this great car. I love the design, MPG, power, handling, ride, wireless carplay, safety features, Japanese built quality, reliability, value and resale value(may keep it til it dies). I so love the safety feature that you can set the car to slow down when you are fast approaching a car or pedestrian in front of you, you can adjust the sensitivity or turn on/off. I bought this car for my wife and this feature is great because she doesn't keep a proper distance:) The blind spot monitoring is great & can be set to have blinking lights in the side mirrors and or sound or off. we got 60.8MPG on my first tank; the computer shows 60.8 and my calculations: 447 miles divide by 7.35 gallon = 60.81, exactly the same as the car computer! My wife and I are both 5'7" and we set the seat height with 3" headroom and the steering wheel low, and we have a very comfortable seating position and good unblocked view of the heads-up display, also find that the cloth seat to be even more comfortable than my Audi Q5 which has a very comfortable driver's seat. I believe the base trim cloth seats are more comfortable than the higher trimmed leather seats which are stiffer. I have no problem with the visibility as some online car reviewers said. The heads-up-display is great, it keeps your eyes close to the road vs traditional gauges. FYI, I was able to modify the trunk space and put in a spare tire. There is a bolt hole in the trunk floor for a spare tire mount and the spare tire kit is available at the dealership except the 145/90/16 spare tire. You can search Priuschat.com for my mod. My name in the forum is Humble Bear. Another pleasant surprise is that there are actually dark gray/black alloy wheels behind the aero wheel covers and I think they look better than the hubcaps. The only thing is you need to buy the little center caps to cover the holes. I will do that when my warranty expires. The only thing I don't like is if you need to change the sound tune like bass, treble or mid, while you are on carplay/Spotify, you need several steps to go in & out of a menu in order to adjust the sound tune. However, you can use the voice assistant with a touch of a button on the steering wheel and say "adjust treble", and the screen will go there in 3 seconds. Too bad you cannot tell it to go up or down 2 notches. I did went test drive the Civic Hybrid (both sedan & hatchback), even though the Civic is also a great car, but the seat is far less comfortable, you cannot get the wheels in 17", and the overall appeal & design are not as upscale and special as the Prius. I also trust Toyota's hybrid technology & reliability more plus the Prius is being built in Japan. Overall, we really love this car, it's rare & special, comfortable, has a sports car look and drive, yet with a class leading fuel economy and reliability and a hatchback functionality. It's just amazing that the Prius has all those qualities! I make all kinds of excuses just to go out and drive this great car. My wife has been saying this a lot lately: "are you taking my car out again?!"

3rd Prius

2023 Toyota Prius XLE 4dr Hatchback (2.0L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)

After owning a 2010 IV Prius and a 2015 IV Prius, both silver, I decided to put down a $500 deposit at a local Toyota dealership spring 2023 and wait. The Sales person kept me abreast monthly of the dealer's allotment. I could take what was delivered or pass it to the next waiting customer. It took about 5 months, and 9/19/23 I drove off the lot a new 2023 Reservoir Blue Prius XLE FWD. I would have preferred an AWD, but beggars can't be choosers. I've had the car for about 5 weeks. I've been very happy with owning a Prius, which is why I purchased my 2023. I'm 75 and don't expect to purchase another car before I leave the planet. Sure, there are some things I don't like, but I can live with out. It is slightly smaller interior, slightly lower to the ground, slightly lower ceiling, no spare tire, no GPS (I never used it anyway, no DVD player (I've downloaded my smart phone and have Spodify) and I no longer have that awesome sunglass holder (that was above the rearview mirror). However, what I got in the 2023 model far out shines what I lost! A much smoother drive (thanks to the larger tires;/wheels) and sportier/jazzier exterior and interior styling, to name a few. Always great gas mileage. Thank god that split rear window is gone and those ugly, ugly large taillights. Other than routine maintenance and replacing break pads, I have never needed a major repair. It's a very low-cost maintenance vehicle, as long as the owner maintains regular oil changes (the cheapest thing an owner can do to extend the longevity of any vehicle). My only serious complaint that pissed me off about this new vehicle is the rear tailgate is manual. Come on Toyota, why couldn't the XLE include a power operated tailgate lift??????????? Really?????? That's why my review doesn't give 5 stars.
