Used 2021 Toyota Highlander Consumer Reviews
Toyota Lowlander
Half of the gadgets don't work. Tailgate opener doesn't work. Phone app has a known (incurable) bug. Cryptic instruction/owner manual does not begin to tell you how to disengage the useless technical gagetry. For a new vehicle, I give it a 6.

Pre Collision system
I had different toyota for the past years all of them with the PCS but this one (sport utility fwd L) is not even displaying the warning signal, took it to dealership and said nothing wrong with it just adjusted sensitivity but nothing change... very disappointed, and consumption it’s really bad, too much gas for a couple minutes of driving

Very good overall
Bought the Platinum. Love the safety features, available in all trim levels. The added cameras on the Platinum take the guesswork out of maneuvering and parking the large is a vehicle. Rides well on the highway.
Gets the job done!
2021 Highlander FWD "L" trim package here. Purchased new in Feb. 2021, have 18k city miles on the vehicle as of Sept. 2022. Observations that may be of interest: -3rd row should be for elementary age children only -carpet is extremely hard to vacuum due to the materials used -headlights are so bright at night oncoming drivers will flash you constantly (super annoying). I have had to align them towards the white fog line and down and turn the knob down 1 time to basically run the "running lights" at night in order to appease other drivers -Toyota will provide free services for every 2 years at 5k intervals for tire rotations but every oil change must be done every 10k. Was not comfortable with doing city mileage on the same oil all year so I asked them to change the oil. They did, but told me I was doing the service prematurely, so I would forfeit my extra year of coverage. -oil level was low on my first oil change at 5k miles-glad I had it changed early! -I did not agree for Toyota to track my vehicle while setting up the vehicle software at the dealership so my on-screen maps don't work unless I use my phone to override the system. -oil changes require a large plastic shield to be removed, and a special tool needed to remove the oil filter housing. -door jambs get extremely filthy after driving in rain. A good spray wax helps keep it clean but the sand and dirt accumulation is annoying. -So far I have not experienced any wind noise that others have complained about -my weekly MPG average is pretty much stuck at 21 mpg, I drive about 85% city 15% hwy. I'm sure this would improve if I drove hwy more. Overall I like the vehicle. It's comfortable, hauls my family of 4 easily, and is fun to drive. I would buy another one.

All that we expected and more
Very nice and spacious mid size SUV. The infotainment center is easy to navigate and the buttons visible and self explanatory. The third row is roomy enough for a short trip, since the second seats can be move forward and backward. The Highlander is a very comfortable ride!!!
