This is our second Highlander. We absolutely are sold on Toyota engineering. Tremendous quality and reliability. We’re fans for life!

Love my Highlander

I am a Toyota girl. I started off with the Corolla, then upgraded to the Camry. When my Camry was stolen and stripped (rest her soul..parts), it was time to start the car search again. Instinctively I decided on the Highlander but then I decided to actually research rather than go with loyalty. After a month of research, I ended up back at the Highlander. I do not regret my choice what so ever. I purchased in Aug 2012, and I only now feel that my mileage is starting to live up to what was advertised. However, even in the beginning it was the same as my Camry, so I am satisifed. This SUV is perfect for a family with children. I needed more space because of my son, and I love it very much.

Bulletproof Quality

The most American built automobile in our country as this vehicle build quality is outstanding and the engineering involved in the driveline will provide years of trouble free use. I do like the interior layout especially the climate controls located on the steering wheel allowing me to focus on the road instead of fumbling with the heater controls on the dash.

84000 miles and still going strong!!

We love the myriad of beverage holders. Besides that it goes through snow like butter, gets great mileage, is quiet, roomy and super comfortable for road trips and has been very reliable. Just change the oil regularly and put on good tires and that's it!! Only a couple hardware fails - door opener handle broke and one of the 12v power outlets stopped working. Other than that everything functions perfectly and it handles great. We've used it to haul a couple big loads of landscaping bricks and it handled like a champ. Just a nice reliable, comfortable, fairly economical go to vehicle!

Tailgates and the Beach

Have had this car 7 years - little to no problems over that span. My family and I have had many happy times in that Highlander - countless tailgates for football games, 2 or 3 weeks at the Beach each year, driving on the sand. So dependable and trouble-free - very comfortable to ride and to drive. So much so I'm going to buy a new one. UPDATE: After 8 years we traded it in for a new 2020 Highlander Limited. Celestial Silver Metalic exterior and black leather interior. Boy is it sharp looking! We have only had it for a few days now, but just like the 2012, we love it. We got an excellent trade offer from the dealership on the 2012 also. My wife and I were trying to remember - but we could not recall a single repair we incurred on the 2012 - just routine interval maintenance. We'll go to the beach at the beginning of October for two weeks, but I'm not going to drive this baby on the sand - no way, it's too awesome looking. I rented a scooter called a SandHelper instead.
