I miss my RS2.5 already

I bought my 2.5RS in 2001, and have never regretted it for a moment. Unfortunately, on March 23rd, with 121,823 miles on it, someone nailed it in a parking lot and did $7K of damage, so it was totaled out. I had a lot of amateur radio gear installed in it, and when I had to go to the body shop to remove it, I just about cried when I walked away from the car (yea, 49 year old guy). I had planned to drive it until the wheels fell off, and it was over-due for the 105K major service interval. Only real problem was a slow drip from the head gasket on to the exhaust, which left the garage smelling like hot oil now and again. Would I buy another? Without question (if I could only find one...)

My favorite car

My favorite car I’ve owned. It was the perfect synthesis between function and fun. Sporty, had a sunroof, my 6 foot three father could fit in it even though the vehicle itself is a little bullet. Trunk space too. The ride was smooth and the miles per gallon were excellent, I think topping out at the high 20s. I live in Michigan and the all-wheel-drive combined with its light body made this thing literally INVINCIBLE in the snow, I remember watching people slip and slide down hills while I drove as if nothing was happening. All of my guy friends wanted to drive it so you know what that means, and I can do not because this is apparently a cherished model from Subaru, no kidding stranger enthusiasts frequently would come up to me in random parking lots asking if the car was for sale. When I bought it, the previous owner had tinker too hard, and the crankshaft was bent, and that baby drove like a dream with no problems for three straight years. Absolutely incredible car. Sold it when the engine gave up just for the body. It was black and bad, and I wish all cars held a candle too the overall ability, comfort and style of this car. A legend!
