Used 2008 smart fortwo Consumer Reviews
Silver Bullet
So far so good with my little commuter. I bought it for about 2K, had 67K miles on it, gets me to and from work for cheap. I also have a range rover sport and the gas savings will pay for itself in just 1 year. I have found it to be a little more than just basic, AC is cold, heated seats are warm. Driving it reminds me of my Suzuki Samurai I drove in the 90's. Short and bumpy but fun. First saw it in Spain in 2000, thought if they come to the USA, I will buy one. Well I bought a Lotus instead, eventually sold it. Drove my Rover for a few years then though I should get something cheaper to drive to work, just me and my book bag. It's really cheap especially if you service it your self, just did the 70K service. Obviously breaks needed to be done by a mechanic and it was like 80 dollars total -still cheap. Had a little snafu with the AC fan, but simple wiring fix had it in fully functional, didn't cost me anything except to do some reading. will need speakers, original ones are entirely made of plastic! I will drive it probably until its a paperweight. Its really a fun little car, I must have gotten one built on a good day.

Not out of a cracker jack box.
Others should Know what they want . I wanted Electric. In my search I came across this 2008 Fortwo Coupe Smart Car. Didnt know much about them , was a little leary , older than I really wanted but thought it was Cute. Test drove and bought it on the spot. I didnt realise all that it was. Today I Love it. I found that it had All the things I wanted (except electric) and a Pano roof which Leaf doesnt have. I had just sold 2017 Jeep with all bells & whistles but No Pano. I still want a Leaf but am Keeping my Smarty, just changed stereo to flip up screen with dvd & phone service. It has Air but I hardly use it , like the feel of the wind and better for enviroment. I could Even change my own oil. This is 2021 but this 2008 cutey has all my votes. Loving it. Louise Geraghty BC>

Best of the Smart Fortwo series?
I recently acquired a very low milieage, cover-kept Smart Fortwo Passion convertible, in white with a red interior. This thing is a barrel of fun, and faster than you think if you keep the revs between 2500, and under 5000 which is easy to do with the paddle shifters. This car is solid, has no rattles, and is pleasure to look at. Two downsides: a bumpy ride over speedbumps and potholes, and a slow gear change between first and second (the others are fine). These are things I work around. It makes my other two cars feel like glass-smooth speedboats (and so a bit boring!)

I LOVE MY LIL TIC TAC
Got my car in April, 2008. The craziness of being chased down by tow truck drivers and 20 people standing around my car in the grocery store parking lot has gone away. But still have the occasional "how do you like your little car?" at the gas pump. Happy to say, almost a year later and I am still in love with my eco- friendly, economical import. In town, I get 33-42mpg depending on how I'm driving but even when gas was $4.00 a gallon, never spent a whole $20 to fill up. Big inside, very SMART outside.
