Love this car, would like arm rest however. Great pickup, but find the rear window being so small, have trouble seeing cars alongside me. blind spot).Love the higher seats--easy to get in and out.Brakes are a little touchy,Overall, I enjoy riding in this car, very comfortable. Most people who see it call it "cute". Ok by me.

Funnest Car Yet!

First I test drove the Kia Soul, and while I really liked the design and features of the car, I found it to be much less zippy, dare I say, gutless, even in comparison to my Hyundai Accent. The Soul had a 2.0 with 150 horses, but was so low on torque and so unresponsive on the get go that I found it a very boring drive. In comparison, when I tested the XD, I nearly popped a wheelie when I first took off. So much more responsive than the Soul. Mileage is great, mid 30s with a combination of city/hwy driving. The styling is fabulous, interior is comfortable.

Daily Driver

2010 Scion xD 4dr Hatchback (1.8L 4cyl 5M)

Purchased it with only 10k miles, now we are at 250,000. Great daily driver, not luxury by any means. But gets the job done, getting about 30mpg highway. Paint has begun to get cancerous marks on the hood and roof. I had half of it repainted, but now the top of the doors are flaking. The inside rattles and driving noise is really loud over 65. Only had the alternator fixed and spark plugs, nothing major. The speed up hills (like Cajon pass) I have to drive in the slow lane. Plan on keeping this car until it dies. Do not recommend for road trips, as not comfortable. But it surprisingly fits a lot in the trunk (washing machine, etc).

Super dependable and long-lasting

I have owned my Scion XD for 11 years. I currently have 201,000 miles on it and it runs great! I have never had any major problems with it. Normal things like having the brake pads replaced and the rotors once, shocks, tires...nothing with the engine or drive train. It's not a sports car but if you want one or own one, you already know that. But if you want a car that will likely last for a long time with few things to worry about, this is it!

I have the automatic and I'm getting around 31 mpg in mostly city driving. You do feel the road conditions when driving, but it is what I expected for an economy car. It handles well and is fun to drive. I added the factory armrest which goes in the cup holder, but the armrest has a cup holder that replaces the one you install the armrest in. There is sufficient power to handle any situation. Interior space is good considering the size of the car. If you want a fuel efficient car that has some cargo versatility then this is an excellent choice.
