Inexpensive, Economical, and a Blast to Drive

Rich B., 07/29/2006
2006 Scion xA 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl 5M)

Just hit 1,000 miles and one month on my Flint Mica XA and I am delighted with it. I love the exterior style and the stereo. This car came well equipped for a great price. I feel younger than my 50 years when driving it, my teenage daughters' friends call it "cool", I keep playing Springsteen's "Born to Run" - really loud. I pulled into a parking lot once and a woman had followed me to ask me about all about it. I love the peppy ride, the nimbleness, and the overall look and feel of the car. About 75% of my driving is in the 35 to 40 mph range - conservative driving, so far it looks like I'm north of 35 to 36 miles per gallon. Economics aside, my xA is a blast to scoot around town in.

SCION ROCKS!!!!, 08/30/2006

The wife and I just got OUR 2006 Scion aX for me to drive at work. This car is THE BEST! I have been a hardcore Chevy man all of my life UNTIL I drove this car! Our's has cruise control, an arm rest, he red LED Package, upgraded Pioneer stereo, floor mat pkg., keyless doors, and a factory alarm. It is the BEAUTIFUL Salsa Red Pearl color. I average about 42 to 45 MPG! I would suggest getting the options that we ordered to really complete YOUR Scion xA. These options make it even more fun to drive. It has good power, awesome gas mileage, and the options are sweet! We highly recommend the scion xA to anybody!

This is my first new car and I am loving it. After hearing hundreds of horror stories about the whole car buying process, I was genuinely surprised at how fast and easy it was to buy a Scion. The dealership was amazing and they took care of everything. I love driving this little titan around. I always get the same reaction when I show it off; first, people usually chuckle at how small it is, but once inside, they always say the same thing "wow." The interior is stylish and roomy (it makes grocery shopping and laundry days a cinch). It handles well and drives smoothly. And it just looks so cool!

I've had no trouble with my Scion xA in the year I have had it. I like the way It sits up high like a little SUV. My son is a tall boy and the Scion gives him plenty of head room. He will be taking it to college in a couple of years and I will buy another one, a tC the next time. I love Scions.

Scion over Pontiac

I love my aA. The day we bought it is the last day I drove my husband's Pontiac. It is such a joy to drive, comfortable and yet it still has a bit of attitude. People are always asking if they can look inside. It is much roomier than you would think. My husband is 6'2" and has enought leg room. Even with the high price of gas we have taken more road trips this year in the xA because of the fact that we get 300 miles to a tank of gas.

The xA makes an excellent second car. It has easy access, great visibility and a high seat position. Its sound system rivals the one in my Avalon. It has smooth shifting up and down. Its overall gas consumption is currently at 32+mpg around town. The air conditioning can "run you out." This is a really fun car to drive!

Scion xA - The 4 door hatch to buy

This car is an excellent value with style and comfort. We chose it over the Honda Fit and other 4 door hatch models. There has been too much criticism about the lack of power and ride comfort. While a few more HP would be welcome, this car's performance is well beyond adequate with a ride we believe to be comfortable. If considering one, take it for a ride rater than relying on what we believe was a lazy review by Consumer Reports. CR seemed to mail in a review of a 2004 model.

Best Deal for the Price

I did a lot of research on all the new sub-compact cars on the market and found the Scion xA to be the best for the price. I especially like the fixed pricing where you don't have to deal with sales price haggling. I got the extended warranty that covers me for 7 years or 100,000 miles for an extra $1,100. This car really zips around town. I find no problems with the limited horsepower. It would be nice to have a larger fifth gear for the freeway maybe to push it over 40 mpg. The middle console was no problem getting used to. I think there is plenty of cargo room with the seats down. I was also able to get a lot of stuff (tools, jumper cables, blanket, towels) in the spare tire well. This car an A+.

This is the first car i've ever bought. It's fun, it does what I need, and it's a good start if you're going to upgrade your ride.
