Used 2015 Nissan Murano Consumer Reviews
Great Car with Very Bad Intelligent Cruise Control
This is our 3rd Nissan. Our last was a 2011 Murano which my wife loved. When it was time for a new car Murano was our first choice. The Good: Interior is nice and new seats are great for long trips. Gas mileage is much better than the 2011, 29 on our last trip. Side cameras and blind spot warning are great. Voice activation is very complete. Car is a very nice ride. The BAD: Intelligent Cruise Control. I see some people brag about this. If you are going to buy this car make sure you take it out and drive in traffic with cruise. We just went on a 1500 mile trip and the cruise control was a mess. The Murano is the only car that you cannot turn the Intelligent Cruise Control off and use normal cruise. Intelligent cruise has 3 ranges that it will follow at different distance behind another car. If a car in front of you slows down, you slow down. Change lanes and you accelerate back to your set speed. HOWEVER if a car slows to exit on four lane and you cannot get over, you slow down even though the car is on the exit ramp. If a car cuts in front of you on the four lane even though it is faster than you, your vehicle applys brakes and slows very fast to get the defined distance. Hope no one is close behind it is going to be dicey. Had one car on our trip take the shoulder and did not have kind words for us as he went by. UPDATE: After 3 months of ownership we sold the car. The second close call was enough for us to reevaluate the ownership of this car. We tried and tried to work with Nissan with no resolution. The Adaptive Cruise Control on this car is dangerous. The second close call was worst than the first with numerous cars going different directions on the highway trying to avoid accidents that our car intensified because someone changed lanes in front of us at 70 mph. We loved our 2011 Murano, but the 2015 Adaptive Cruise Control is not ready for Prime Time. No more Nissan's for us.

I still love my Murano after 2 years!
Update-- Still love the car and to tell you the truth I don't even remember what I was talking about in my original review when I said i didn't like where the radio knob is located, lol. The ONLY complaint i have about this car is where the radio knob is located and gas mileage in town in not great. I've had the car for about a month now and it is AWESOME. My 12 year old said he needed to be wearing a suit when he got out of the car at school! He feels like a rockstar! The interior (tan leather) is gorgeous, feel and looks very high end. All of the saftey features are great too!

An Infiniti without the badge markup!
I never thought I would buy a car at the end of a lease, but not a single car I tested at Nissan and other dealer lots when approaching the end of my lease could hold a candle to my existing Murano Platinum (aside from the newer year of the same model/trim), so I did the unthinkable and bought it out at the end. What drove this crazy decision? Simple - the Platinum trim of the Murano beats any of the Infiniti SUVs I have driven, rented or ridden in for long-haul comfort, styling, intuitive infotainment, and value for money. I realized during lease-end car shopping that I simply enjoyed owning and driving it. I fell in love with the look of the vehicle when they first redesigned the Murano 3ish years back, and even now, just seeing the car in the parking lot, as Konmari would say, "sparks joy". (I'm disappointed with Nissan for not bringing the Rogue up to date with their newest design language, nor offering a Platinum trim for it, as sometimes I feel a slightly smaller vehicle with a similarly reduced price tag would suit my needs, but the Rogue still looks like it's 2008, not 2018, and still lacks the stealthy luxury of a Platinum trim.) Safety: The active safety systems have saved me from at least 6 different potential collisions, including one where I wound up being the front car of a 3-car sandwich. Not only did I avoid hitting the car in front of me, but while the middle car and rear car were completely totaled, there was zero frame damage to the rear of my car, despite having the entire rear smashed in from the impact, and no serious passenger injury. Performance: Much better pickup and handling than you would expect from a midsize crossover. It won't win any drag races, but I never feel like it lacks required power, and the relatively low center of gravity avoids any serious swaying in turns. Infotainment: There always seem to be drawbacks to any infotainment system, but this one is pretty good. I only have a couple complaints here. First, it will *almost* always forget where it was when playing an iPhone via USB, and default to playing all tracks in the iTunes library on the phone beginning with the first song name in alphabetical order. Even if you shut the car off for less than 5 minutes. You might want to change up your songs that start with "A" periodically to not get sick of that first song always playing. Second, the navigation system is hard to zoom, it takes 3 or more accurate presses on the screen, where the VW navigation system zooms the view level in and out by just turning the tuner knob. Not a huge deal, since I use Waze on my phone for navigation anyway, but when I just want a quick reference of what streets I am passing and coming up to soon, the view is always set to the wrong zoom level for it. Interior: Nicely designed, the seats are SUPER comfy for long trips, fairly low cabin noise at highway speed for a non-luxury brand. Cargo space is quite ample, and the motorized seat return function controlled from the rear tailgate area is very useful (just be aware that a 6 foot tall driver's seat position might cause the rear seat headrest to prevent the seat from smoothly dropping or being returned upright).

You want this car!
I purchased this car already broken in and certified by the dealer. 19,000miles The vehicle is surprisingly roomier than expected. The drive is easy and handles very well in rain & snow. Very quiet cabin compared to competitors. The gas mileage seems to be less than what it says it will get.I usually spend around $28 dollars to fill up so not bad for a vehicle this size. Love the multi- zone climate and heated seats. The remote start is amazing in cold weather so you can warm up quick and you can start it pretty far away. The read outs for the menu is easy to use. The volume button on the steering wheel feels useless where it is positioned. The blind spot monitor is very helpful and the camera is great. ( birds eye view) . there are some blind spots. My drive way is on a hill and when I pull out the front end rubs due to the front end being so low for a SUV but I think they wanted a sporty look for a not so sporty car. I guess it could be sporty but I don't see how. It will be awesome on road trips because the back seats recline in different positions.. Can I say YES!! Automatic lift gate. The speakers are Bose but you do have to turn way up to get a good fill of music all around, so I would say the speaker placement sucks. The navigation system will not allow you to type or change route while vehicle is in motion. I think that is a plus for safety and a con if your driving slow and it locks up ...(Just use the Waze app you will be just fine). No apple car play this makes me sad, but I will get over it. Overall its a great vehicle and your passengers will fall in love for sure. No automatic braking feature or driving feature but hey that could be a huge distraction anyway. I hope this helps you make a decision. I purchased a all around warranty for 100,000miles so I feel good about my purchase.

Oh boy 12K and need a new Trany
I was loving this car other than a rattle noise at 78 plus. Then at 12k miles starts to shutter . Needs a new transmission. Really. Now I am worried.
