Used 2004 Nissan Murano Consumer Reviews
The Perfect Compromise
This car is the perfect compromise between sport and utility for a family. Great interior room and incredible looks and performance. Incredible ride. CVT is smooth and powerful - and I love the Ds gear for added power. Even during break-in, I can average 27 mpg on some highway trips. Have had none of the "infamous" rattle problems ... yet (fingers crossed). "Wind buffeting" problems have been fixed - no problems with sunroof or rear windows down at speeds over 45 mph. Got a great deal - invoice in Chicago. Contact me at shindig@lycos.com for more info. For the money and features, blows away the competition.
Extremely happy
The first 18,000 miles have been totally trouble-free. No glitches or repairs at all. Quiet, comfortable, smooth and powerful and with all the bells an whistles (except for satellite radio and GPS).

A purchase you can feel good about
I spent a few months reading reviews, comparing vehicles, and doing research on this and other crossover autos. I picked the Murano SE AWD (loaded) because it was the best value of them all. Good price, great ride and handling (down to the thick steering wheel), great comfort (heated seats & mirrors, auto everything, reclining rear seats), best rated engine many years running (same V-6 Nissan uses across its platforms, ITS BULLETPROOF). Most of the negative things I read were about ride, milage and CVT performace. Ride is stiff like a SE should be, gas Milage average for my first year was 17.9, and CVT is smooth (but different so that scares people). I now prefer CVT over a standard auto
Best Kept Secret-Nissan Murano
I don't know where the "power sapping" is coming from because the SL 4WD steps out real nicely and gets outstanding MPG for an auto of that size. Nissan scored with this one and I don't think there will be a lot for re-sale down the road.
What a ride!
We looked for an SUV for about a month and this was the last one we looked at. My first thought was wow, looks like a pregnant space potato. My wife likes unique looking vehicles and once she drove it there was no turning back to the conventional looking SUVs. The 3.5L engine matched with the CVT is fantastic. The back seat is exceptionally large and the seating is very comfortable. The engines power and the CVT makes this one of the best rides we've had in the past seven years. Be sure to work out your best deal with about 4 Nissan Dealers. This vehicle is only 2 years on the market and there weren't any factory incentives at this time.
