cheap truck
Overall a cheap truck, both good and bad. Engine torque performance at start up and pulling grades was poor, especially with a load. Number 2 plug wire was against a metal bracket and shorting out intermitently for first 5000 miles, once repositioned, performance became marginal. Traction has been very poor when unloaded, until it resulted in a crash into a road bank at 15 mph and $5K of damage. Have now replaced the original 225/70 tires with 205/70 tires. So far that change has proven to be useful, wet and dry traction seems to have improved and the torque/gearing now is acceptable. The speedo/odometer, of course, is off now, as nissan offers no adjustment.
Silver but not gold!
Still holding up just fine. Still gets crappy gas mileage! In general a great little truck. With regular maintenance it has held up well. The only complaint I have is gas mileage!

not so good
If you like good looks, reasonably good fit and finish and a truck that starts every morning, then buy this truck. If you crave power and you don't like to deal with things like fixing brakes at 8,000 miles or replacing a good number of suspension components at 24,000 miles when you've never even taken it off road or outside the city limits of Saint Louis, then DO NOT buy this truck. The gas mileage is HIDEOUS considering the type of vehicle. Its not a full size truck yet gets the mpg of my 2001 F150 4x4 crewcab Lariat. Window sticker says 16/20. Right...more like 13/16. Also, the suspension creaks and the cruise won't hold on the slightest incline. Just too many annoying problems.
Third world country vehicle
When i saw this vehicle in the philippines i said to myself if this ever comes to the states i gotta get me one. When it came i said ok i paid the 14500 asking price and drove it off the lot. Has 89000 and the timing belt replaced. Gas milage 10 to 25 mpg. 10 miles with 4500# boat and 25 when driving like a green freak. Still with original clutch. It's hard to decide if this or my integra are better vehicles. Both are far better then expected.
frontier my second
My first frontier was a supercharge,I loved the leather seats and the six disc cd changer that I did not get with the sports package.I love the truck style and some features I wish that it had more standard luxury features, but I do like our truck alot.2004 with the sports package.
