Used 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Consumer Reviews
Just Had To Get It!
Traded my 2010 E350 in for a 2011, in black. Couldn't resist the 2000 loyalty cash, 3 years free Mbrace services including stolen vehicle recovery assistance, plus 1.9 % financing for 66 months. This 2011 has the LED daytime running lights, and the vehicle is much quieter than my 2010 was. Ride is also smoother, at least it seems that way. No problems with the 2010, and no problems with the 2011. I felt that the shifting was a bit buffeting, but when I told the service manager, he said that would go away after a few days when the computer gets used to the way I drive. Well, he was right - unbelievable. Still the best car on the road for the money.
E350 My Ride Update
This is my 1st Benz. I have black with black interior. I've always liked the look of this car but initially I didn't like it after I purchased it. I drove a BMW prior and loved the way it handled. The E isn't bad it just wasn't a BMW. I don't have the xenon headlights and the stock headlights sucked at night, I replaced them with aftermarket HIDS and it's much better. The windshield wipers are also painfully slow so I use rainx washer fluid and it works pretty well. The car had 48K on it when I got it and now has 108. The autoclimate is one of the best I've owned, you set it and forget it but I've had some trouble with it cooling then blowing hot air on high fan and dealer hasn't been able to fix the problem. Like I said, the car grew on me, I love the look and always get compliments when its clean. My wife has a 09 Lexus 350 and the Benz initially felt sluggish compared to it. I think the Lexus seats are slightly more comfy on long trips but I'd prefer the driver of the benz vs the Lex. I'd buy another 350 but I think I'd prefer the 550. In my family because I purchased an E350, my sis bought a 350 as did a cousin and he also bought an S550. I'd recommend it but make sure you drive it 1st and not just around the block. UPDATE:My car now has 176k miles on it. It has remained trouble free. I still like the car but it eats tires, especially the back ones as I have stacked tires. The a/c acts up periodically as mentioned earlier and I’m told it needs a new compressor. I’ve also added a 08 CLS to the fleet and man it’s really nice, plenty of power and comfort. I bought from a private party with 123k miles and it now has about 150k. It too has been trouble free. I was recently at the shop with it and was told it also needs a new compressor. Update. The car now has 250k miles and it still runs good. I’ve had to do a transmission service and tune-up. The drivers seat has started to tear. The a/c compressor continues to work and this past summer a mechanic said it had a leak at the Shroader valve, he replaced it and I haven’t had anymore problems with it, blows ice cold. I’m in the market for a new car, might go S Class or 7 or the X7 Bimmer. Now my son has a 5 Series BMW a little newer than my E and they drive night and day different. The bimmer has a fun factor to it the Benz doesn’t have and I love how the 5 transmission shifts and how the car handles curves, the E is more of a cruiser, at 250k miles it still gets compliments, the E holds 4 people better in good comfort and it has that taste of snob appeal. I’m going to keep the car, it’s great to have a backup.

Quart a week
Ran great and looked awesome then 100k came. The seal issue in the BluTech diesel is real, MB wanted nearly $7k to repair it so it was time for it to go. My opinion is the entire MB experience was highly over rated.

Some praise, some gripes.
There were 2 problems with this car. First, the front bumper is too close to the ground and too easily scratched and damaged. Second, the camber adjustment on all four wheels was poorly conceived and built. I had to buy an after-market camber kit to stop ruining tires. I have it fixed now. The car is a joy to drive and is quiet and very comfortable.

6th Mercedes - Very Impressed
This is my 6th Benz since '88, and my 4th convertible. It is a major step up from the 2 CLK's I owned (03 and 05), and it is, naturally, much more car than the 07 SLK I traded in for this one. The quality of all the interior materials and finishes is excellent, the top works smoothly and quickly, and when closed it rides extremely quietly for a soft-top. The navigation system is vastly improved over the horrible SLK system I endured for 3+ years (which was an insult at over $2K), and, surprise!, the Germans have figured out cup-holders finally! But seriously, it is a solid, extremely well built car.
